Hi All,

I figure I post this here as I am sure this will generate plenty of questions:

Dear Players,

The Australian Poker League and Full House Group, owner of the 888Poker League are thrilled to announce a new partnership that is going to provide some amazing opportunities to our loyal players and venue partners.

As of the 1st of July 2011, APL and 888PL will come together under one management run by the Full House Group.
So what does this mean for you?

Firstly, no changes until July 1st, its business as usual til then.

From then both brands will sit side by side as we work to build a structure and importantly a prize structure that offers the maximum benefit to players. Think of the possibilities as we come together in the most lucrative finals competition the pub poker market has ever seen.

Right now the teams from both companies are planning the future of the dominant league in the market place to ensure that by coming together we strengthen both leagues and provide our players and venues with the best pub poker experience by far in Australia.

As more news comes to hand about this exciting development please keep and eye on our websites – www.playapl.com and www.888pl.com.au and of course our respective Facebook pages.

Good luck on the felt,

The APL and 888PL Teams.

Are you going rebrand or stick with 888PL or APL?
How are you dealing with their sponsorship by FT and yours by 888?
Did the recent news regarding their sponsor have anything to do with this?

This should open a lot of opportunities but without a major competitor there's always a concern about how a monopoly on the pub poker market might effect members. Without competitors there is no incentive for pub poker leagues to satisfy members, because if they don't there's no "other league" to switch to.

Interesting news though.

As above, both brands will coexist side by side, there is no though on rebranding at this time.

FullTilt has not sponsored APL for almost 18 months, if not longer.

No the recent news has not had an impact as agreements of this nature do not occur over night, this has been a lengthy process.

Trishan- Was it not NPL that is sponsored by Fulltilt? After the recent events with Fulltilt etc I wouldn't think there would be much of a sponsorship issue here anyway.

Wow you denied this in a post two weeks ago. Credit must go to that person.

Sounds like good times ahead

Gundog wrote:I have heard that there is a bit of discussion between 888pl and another provider about a national take over with that company being encouraged to reband to 888PL , has the rumour any legs.

And my response was:

If anything like that were to occur do you not think an announcement would have been made by now?

I do like the rebrand to 888PL concept, that's the newest rumor I have heard.

No real denial there.

Cool cucumbers. I didn't know FT ended their sponsorship with them - shows how out of touch I am.

Pretty impressive union. What do you think the combined "active" membership base is for both leagues? 40,000+?
