oh ok - but im not formatting.

888Poker League is once again proud to partner with the Crown Casino to provide another fantastic 888PL Grand Final. The Crown Poker Room will once again play host to the 888PL Grand Final over the weekend of August 26th - 28th.

We would like to thank all of those players who took the time to respond to the survey or that supplied feedback on the last Grand Final. With your help we have identified several issues that both the 888PL and Crown team will rectify. This will ensure that we provide the top notch 888PL service and experiences that our players have come to expect and demand.

We have already begun working closely with Crown and have made the following amendments:

* Lunch breaks will be 30 minutes in length.
* There will be extended registration on the Friday that will last till 9pm on the Friday night.
* More tournaments and poker experiences that are exclusively offered to 888PL members
* All dealers to be briefed by 888PL management on 888PL competition, rules, prizes and players.
* 888PL Management will be on the microphones full time and assist with floor management of the tournament.

We still have a few months to go but over the coming months we will be working hard to ensure that 888PL provides the best possible weekend of poker experiences ever offered to players.

For those of you interested here are some important results from the survey:

* 91.3% of respondents rated the 888PL Grand Final as Good or Very Good.
* 68.1% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with the statements "888PL supplied the best possible weekend of poker I have ever experienced", 10.1% disagreed with that comment.
* 65.2% of respondents think 30 minute lunch breaks are the most important requirements.
* 47.8% also felt that the 888PL team on the floor was required.
* 45.8% of players would like to receive qualifier polo whilst 38% would like to see a collectable card guard and poker chip.
* 78.2% thought the communication and information supplied prior to the event was at least good.
* 45% spent over $500 on travel and accommodation for the weekend.

Below are some of the more interesting comments supplied by players in regards to their 888PL Grand Final experiences.

Wasn't very exciting. It was great that we had our own dealers and got more hands in and there was no fooling around. But it just felt like a standard crown casino tourney, NOT an 888 tourney. It didn't have that warm, fun feeling like it was in Adelaide or other venues.

Fantastic event, great staff, and a most memorable weekend; having dealers in a tournament with such a big prize pool is essential and made all the difference when compared to a previous GF I'd played in. Being from SA, perhaps more $1000 online package tournaments in the lead-up as i may not have gone had not won this, the extra $500 paid accommodation.

for me it was a great 3 days of poker, thoroughly enjoyed it, my wife completed 3 days of shopping, so my bank card got a hiding. We stayed at the clarion suites gateway, across from the crown casino. It was a 3 min walk to crown and the views looking down at the casino where great, also the service and food was at a very high standard. Hope to catch you at the next final. Spent around $3000 while there, but it was worth it, so the wife thinks, LOL!

The Crown is and was a great venue for our GF and I enjoyed the atmosphere and visiting Melbourne once again as we were holidaying. However, not everyone would be in the same position as the missus and me regarding the affordability over a 5 day stay. We allowed ourselves $2k for expenses such as travel, accommodation meals and other expenses. Seeing that 888PL are now greater than just SA and VIC it may be in the interest of fellow players to enjoy having a GF in their states such as NSW or Qld in the near future. Others like me would probably take time off and holiday there too!!

It was a great event but not hosted very well. Information in the info pack was different to what actually happened. 888PL needs to put out some merchandise, especially shirts, caps. Having the event coincide with JHDS was excellent but we found out too late, had already booked flights and would have stayed the whole week with some notice. Need to make alot more hoopla about the GF. It's a great event that we all look forward to so build it up!! No lunch break on first day was ridiculous. Photo and autograph session with Warnie would have been good. I was on the feature table with Shane at the Bounty Event and he obviously didn't want to be there. Otherwise, it was a fantastic weekend and I am really looking forward to the next GF.

The final table was in a shocking place last time so many people were trying to watch it and staff had half the area blocked off with only a few people in that area maybe move the final table from the poker zone to a different area or make it more easier for people to watch maybe TV as well

The event was awesome. The JHDS was also a bonus which complimented the Grand Final. Team's event good fun, some took it too seriously though. Lanyards would also be helpful to identify opponents (most don't say much). Breaks were a joke but that has been done to death.

Totally worth it! If something could be done to help us cut costs, (we spent $600+ each on accommodation and flights) that would be awesome. Playing an 888pl event of that calibre at the Crown was great; we all learnt so much that we could take back to our own events! Makes me proud to be an 888pl member!

If you require any further information or wish to know more about the 888PL Grand Final please send an email with your query to info@888pl.com.au.

In 2010 the Victorian Championships was held around this time at Crown.
Are there going to be 888pl events running at the same time or lead up to these events?

Am sure a few players would like the chance to play in both.

At this time there will be no conflict of events.
The Vic Champs will actually be held earlier in the month if not in July.

Have to agree with you there.

If you're not being serious, get out.

It's disappointing that the 888PL Vic Semi-Finals are on the same weekend as the Melbourne Champs next weekend [especially that 888pl have been promoting/satelliting the Melb Champs].

It would be great if these conflicts could be avoided for future 888pl events.
