hi charlie welcome to the forum.

IF the player has turns his/her cards over, the cards "speak" i.e if you misread your hand but then someone corrects you, it is always the correct hand that stands not the one you mistakenly called.

Answered in other thread.

Simple internet rules of thumbs. Caps is a kin to shouting, and is less likely to get a response.
Also You only need to post on a topic once. With all relevant information. By posting it across multiple areas of the forum is likened to spamming.

So combining that with Caps and posting all over the place, think of a little kid running around screaming. Not going to get much attention.

Apart from that, If player 1 has shown his hands and says straight when he has a flush and is realised before the next hand is dealt he is awarded the pot.

If player 1 shows his hands, player 2 says flush, player 1 mucks, player 2 then chucks his hand into the muck without showing, this becomes an angle shoot. Player 1 will take down the pot because he was the only person to reveal his hand. Player 2 will most likely get a warning and if continues to play not in the spirit of the game.

If player 1 says straight, player 2 says flush, both show their cards. And player 1 actually has a higher flush without realising it, He takes down the pot. Cards speak first and foremost. If you are trying to angle for the pot by saying that he said straight, it is a great way to get new players to never come back to the game.

Think in your first game you lost a pot by someone taking the chips and saying "you said ace high but you had a flush, hahahah you noob."( Why i don't play Halo!) But if you explain to the person what had happened they are more than likely going to come back because people are friendly and are helping them even though they don't have to.

Remember first and foremost poker is a social game, it is a great equalizer from the poorest to the richest, to the youngest to the eldest. Everything can change on the turn of a card, and everybody was a beginner at some point.

If they show their cards face up the higher flush would win. No show no WIN
Always place your cards face up in front of you. Never throw them in the muck even face up.
