Increasing traffic on 888PL online games

Postby The Waggoner » Sat Jan 07, 2012 10:59 pm

Hi Glynn, Garth & all,
I look forward to getting back online with 888PL and the schedule will be good once up and running. After making to tier 4 of Aussie Millions satellites on 888 (but bombed out) I want to do it again and will have a crack at the steps events for sure. I have had a bit of a break from online league games due to lack of numbers in Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday Main Event type games which are my preference.

I think that 888PL and/or FHG need to somehow re-market the online concept to the greater pub poker population again.

Since the rollout launch aways back, I have seen nothing in Tasmanian venues to promote the online side of the game. In fact, there are alot of players that would not be aware that 888 even hosts 888PL games online. 888PL in Tas couldn't care less about 888PL online and as such don't promote it any way and this could well be the case in other states. There is nothing in it for them so they don't care. They have a business to run and obviously make nothing out of it (so it seems).

I play both 888PL and APL in venue ( 1 venue each) and have qualified for State Champs in both leagues so I am no longer 100% loyal to 888PL. The jury is out as to whether I play 888PL in venue much this year after my favourite venue (and the best & biggest venue in Tas) the Waggon & Horses Hotel dropped 888PL like a cold pie towards the end of last season.

To get more people playing online on 888, FHG has a huge untapped client base..... it is called the Australian Poker League. I believe mainland states even have combined state champs now. Down here it is not that easy, the 2 leagues won't do that and there is a huge THEM vs US attitude.

The answer may be to set up APL players with 888PL/APL online memberships. It can't hurt and would surely increase field sizes and prizes in main events. There is a massive client base to market to there and is worth plenty of thought.A lot of players enjoy both leagues. Logistically it might be a challenge but I am sure the 888 site would be happy with more traffic. Link em up and bring it on !!! .......if it can be done.

This may stir up some comment from the forum but I think it is important in order to grow your online product......cheers.Dave.
