Finals Calcs when someone is first at 2 venues

Postby bennymacca » Mon Feb 25, 2008 5:19 pm

I am massively clutching at straws here, but here is my question.

i am 11th at my regular venue, and with some good results i will be knocking on the door of the top 5.

there are a few people above me that are also ranked higher at other venues, so with a bit of luck they all qualify in the top 5 at the other venues they play at (big handfull of straws)

there are a couple of players that are ranked the same at different venues - i.e dillywilly is ranked first at two different venues.

what system is used to cull this player off of one of the leaderboards? is it highest average out of the two venues?

just wanting some clarification, so i can calculate how many more straws need to be grasped (truckloads) for me to make a state finals spot this year :D

[edit by Pete - I've moved this topic to the Your NPL section because it's quite clearly a question being asked of the NPL. Please read the heading descriptions on the main index that David bothered to write for you.]

Hi there benny the cunt. I know if they are in the top 50 they will make room for others to move up.

Equal positions at various venues? I'd assume it would relate to best finishes etc as you suggested. Last season I topped in 3 venues plus top 50 and that allowed 3 guys/gals to move up.

This season I'm hoping I get the chance to move up, LOL. Playing a different style has been difficult but it should improve my overall game.

Good luck, hope to see you at the finals, regards Bob B

i do believe its total points for the venue

i.e.

Venue 1 - Pos 2 - 697.50 pnts
Venue 2 - Pos 2 - 703.50 pnts

They would take you from venue 2.

I'm sure Garth will clarify this though.

As I understand it the priority of qualification goes like this....

1st - 'top 50' (worst name for it ever but there you go)
2nd - highest placing in the end of season top 5 at a venue (ie 1st at one venue and 3rd at another means you go through via your 1st placing)
3rd - If you happen to be 1st (for example) at two different venues then the venue you have accumulated the most points at is the one you go through on. Average does not apply.
4th - after all of these have been worked out players who didn't qualify outright may find themselves bumped up 1 or more places on a leaderboard which may actually qualify them. Lucky sods :P
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

One thing i learnt from last season.. don't worry about the pack... and dont worry about who you need to beat - just play your game

very true.

i am just ruing the fact that i have bubbled 3 times this season, and there have been numerous times when i have finished 14th or 15th when FT was looking really good.

its gonna cost me a spot in the finals

Yeh gonna be tight... a few are already higher in other venues

Need:
Shaun D to qual through the Old Spot
Mick Wastell to qual through either the Nuri or the Franklin

and then get yourself enough points to jump one player into 5th :)
