As I mentioned to Andre (the TD) last night. Why not get community television involved (Channel 31). Maybe approach some media students at a high school or uni and invite them along to tape a tournament or even the state finals and then get it televised on Ch 31.
Just another idea running through my brain haha.
I'll commentate because I know I'll get busted on the bubble anyways

I reckon that's actually a very decent idea Des, nice work!
State final or even a Satellite tourney such as SkyCity's could be great publicity.
If nothing else it gives those who aren't able to participate a means of spectating without having to show up.

cheeky monkey

Will you be attending the Skycity satellite Des? hmmm?
Was thinking of the lack of spectator room at the state final, mind you they're pretty keen to show up and try to spectate for that long as it is. If there was TV coverage then that's suddenly less of an issue.
and yes the beer is cheaper at home

VERY EXPENSIVE Dave. We have priced one out previously, just not worth the expense, at this stage. And on another note. We want spectators at the state finals and other major events. Adds to the atmosphere and fun.

Probably right

Mind you, maybe I was thinking of a cheaper version!
It wouldn't be much more cost for the table supplies than if you were making a standard table.
10 pen cameras, and cable. $800 all up.
PCI card for the PC to take them all in, few hundred

Here at the NPL we do everything first class and professionally. We're not some backyard operation looking at the cheapest way to get things accomplished.
