Expect a response shortly from someone trying to make you feel bad (lol, me feel bad) about making a joke about someone you have never met before but should all of a sudden have a profound respect for because he is dead..............honestly some people are ghey and should be nuetered to prevent spawning.

I laughed at your joke. Honestly, it's never nice when someone dies and I appreciate the sense of loss many are feeling. I'm 22, I missed the Thriller era and all that, so all I remember of him was that he went a bit insane and liked the presence of children. I dont understand the hype about his music. It isn't offensively bad, but it's not something I've ever made a point of listening to.

I personally came from the Michael Jackson era and am saddened by his loss today.

However I am doubly saddened by the jokes, the crudity and the lack of respect shown to this person who broke grounds in music, on facebook and especially as shown in this forum topic.

The first black artist to ever be played on MTV!!
Can you even imagine that sort of thing?
Of course not, you just don't see that sort of thing now days (to a degree) because it is performers like him who broke that barrier and allowed the black stars of today the chance to perform.

I sincerely hope you do pull your head in and give him the respect AS AN ARTIST that he has so rightfully earned.

If you like him or not, this thread was created by those who are feeling the loss of someone who was, to them, a great artist.

Irrespective of the argument of whether you should be making jokes about a recently deceased person, or should be respectful of his passing, at a minimum you should be respectful of your peers feeling and statements and understand that whilst the passing of Michael Jackson might not be a moment in history for you, it is for many others. And as such you should respect the fact that many people may wish to post their thoughts on this in a respectful and positive manner.

Would you bother to post comments like this in any other commiseration thread? Or is it just because it is Michael Jackson? In my mind it shouldn't make a difference.

Never said I didn't like him maccatak. Just think people are sad for feeling so much sorrow for a person who they never knew. I wished people would get thier own lives and stop jumping on the bandwagon of the death of a celebrity. There will be tributes and people demanding his unrealsed albums/music etc, so you should be in Mikey J's heaven.......good thing he died hey Clownhead!!

As for ruining it for "everyone" well boohoo. If you were really that vulnarable and upset by a few comments and jokes going around, you should seriously think about taking some time off and really evaluating your life.....sad

Get your own material David....and secondly jumping on the bandwagon refers to one person having to out do the other person because the have been so "tramuatized" by the loss of a celebrities life. People die every day should we all be depressed and moan and complain about it.....apparently I've "ruined" this thread for "everyone"to quote maccatak1. Well Macatak1 I've attached a Hurt Feelings Form you should lodge.

The idea was that I DID copy you.

*shrug*

People are allowed to be sad about someone that has touched their lives, whether it's someone they have met, or not met. It's that simple.
