Thanks Codger as I said I really can tell you and benny the cunt know your stuff when it comes to computers and that is why I asked here as I knew that you are all so smart and someone would be able to help. It will make my husband very happy that he does not have to wait for a new computer to arrive. I will check with the computer store about adding extra ram and check that the graphics card installed with this unit will be sufficient for my needs. Now I just need to explain the $300 worth of dvd's that I purchased from JB hifi online while I was searching for the new computer. At least it will be easier to hide than the last poker table I ordered last year but not as much fun as some of the novelty items I ordered when I was high on medication after my surgery :D

these days there aren't many compatibility issues with 64 bit systems like there used to be, so it will be worth it.

then you can upgrade to 8 gig of ram, and it will fly

When I was planning on going with the one from the website windows was something that was purchased separately and was going with the 64 bit windows as the cost was the same . Not sure with the one from the shop as to whether this is an option but I will definitely look at putting it in if it is and also adding the 8 gig of ram. Cant see that it would be a problem being that they are a computer only shop but we will see.

Blame it on a really bad scammer. Honey he got my credit card details and rang up all this stuff, but they sent it to the credit card mailing address. Guess we have to keep them and watch them.

Or..... suprise him with a gift of dvd's.

Or.... if you are really sneaky, hide them in your dvd collection and leave a couple of new ones out say about 3 or so, He sees the new dvds, but doesn't realise that they are all rotating through the shelf. Short Term Memory fun. :-).

This is mild benny the cunt. Prior to my surgery I told my husband I needed to go shopping to prepare. He offered to go for me but I said the items were of a personal nature so he gave me the credit card and said buy everything you need. I came home with a laptop and nothing else. He said "what is that for?" And my reply was "well how else am I going to play poker if I am stuck in bed for 6 weeks". He took that one quite well :D

64 bit Windows was an assumption on my part... by all means make sure you get 64 ... must faster ( I have been running 64 bit since 2000 have not had that many compatibility problems ...a few programs that would not run is all)

I wouldn't bother with 64Bit unless you need it.

I do, but I use 64Bit applications.
Otherwise it's not useful to you at all.
