No worries mate.
As you say if teaching was bout the money, i would be doing something else. I was shown this years ago when i was studying to be a teacher, and i still watch it every now and then. Its pure awesome.

teaching is a great profession
until you reach your 50's and you get shipped from school to school each year...

Not really. Lots of older teachers have permanency and the ten year tenure only exists in the city in public schools.
i.e. i have permanency at waikerie high and i can stay there for as long as i want. A few teachers at my school have been there 20+ years.
Its much more likely that younger people have back to back contracts for a little while at different schools until they get permanency. But then again, thats only if people are fussy. If you want to go country you will get a permanent job easily.

Gotta agree with that - my girls mother has been at her school for 25+ years and will probably be there until she retires..

my mother has been a teacher for 35 years....
guess whats started to happen to her..
matt, dont think for one second it wont happen to you, my mothers 3 or 4 teacher friends are all going through it now..
sorry to steer the topic off topic like this, but it really disgusts me that my poor mum can be told that a 23 year old teacher with 2 years experience has more to offer her than she does at the last permanent job she went for..

Re: Your favourite YouTube clips.
If she has been permanent before, how did she lose permanency?
They cant just ship you to a different school for no reason, the education system doesn't work like that man.
