People that write letters to the editor have the IQ of a watermelon, Bacon. So not really a valid argument.

Don't tell me I did I do it correctly for a change? I'm so bloody glad because I've been writing it that way for half a century. Shit it makes you feel older when you use the word century as a guide line doesn't it???????

Thanks Des I just put it in "my favoUrites"

Did u fix this Bob? By using quotations, u are stating what your computer says. My IE at work says "favorites". So by quoting, you were correct. Best way is to put (sic) after it, so we know that it was on purpose.

If someone else edited it, for shame

Bacon if I used (sic) every time I thought I was stuffing up somewhere I'd be sic all over the pages. :o

He got it right!

BIG HUGS FOR BOB!

Seeing as we're on the topic... dictionary.com is an american dictionary but it often has the English equivalent listed as well (if one applies).

For example:

"color" is the American way of spelling "colour", which is how you or I would spell it.

color

–noun

1. the quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by the object, usually determined visually by measurement of hue, saturation, and brightness of the reflected light; saturation or chroma; hue.
2. the natural appearance of the skin, esp. of the face; complexion: She has a lovely color.

skip a few...

20. Heraldry. a tincture other than a fur or metal, usually including gules, azure, vert, sable, and purpure.

And beneath all the other stuff we see....

"Also, especially British, colour. "

P.S. Bacon - nice try mate.... the name of something has nothing to do with spelling. It's a name. How many American children do you think there are called Shawn ?

See ................. I knew Pete would come to the four or fore (sic) LOL don't know which is which but any way don't let anyone tell you that Pete hasn't got a sense of humour, coz (sic) he does.

So the sentence I put heaps of your favourite songs in the "My Favorites" folder is correct. Because the name of the menu on Bob's Internet Explorer (being "My Favorites") is spelt that way.

But queery (sic) is still wrong.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

(sic) is only used for quotes though, not just when you think you have stuffed up. So every time someone quotes bob, maybe they should put (sic) at the end.

It's 'favorites' in IE because it's a yank program. No other reason.

You are correct in typing 'favourites' when describing it to someone else, because that's what it is... a list of your favourites. You just might need to point out that IE is a yank program so everything runs the risk of being incorrect (and quite possibly stupid beyond belief).

I notice FF sat on the fence and said 'bookmarks' :P
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
