I was on Atkins and very strict about it, for about 3 months in late '06 and lost 30kg.
My weight then stabilised for 9 month as I started to eat normally again, but I did lots of running and cycling to keep the weight stable.
I then counted calories and stuck to a approx 1500-1600 calories a day for 5 weeks do drop from 100kg to 87.
But the diet I used thru both those periods was as follows.
Breakfast (whilst on Atkins)
2xBacon, 2xEgg (NO TOAST)
Breakfast (whilst counting calories)
2x weet-bix
lunch on both
tuna tin + salad if hungry
tea
steak with salad
chicken with salad.
Not really hard, just boring!
You stop being hungry after a while
I found it very daunting to start with, but it got easier as I started to see results. My cousin is following this plan and has dropped form 165 - 145 in the last 3.5 weeks too. So it does work.
Anyway, just thought I'd share that 'cause I have been in this situation and have succeeded.
Well done Rcon. Did you take any suppliments to help or was it just the above food intake??
I'm gonna Google Atkins and see what it's about but please reply via post or PM, well done again M8. My son Joel has just returned from weigh in and has dropped 9 kilos now.
