Has anyone been to KL, Penang and singapore before?

the missus and i are holidaying for 14 nights at the end of april, does anyone know some good places?

i have done my research, and there is only 1 casino in the whole of malaysia, and its about 90 mins out of town. but there is also a theme park there as well, so i have convinced the missus to go there, time permitting :P

Do you dive? SCUBA that is. I can HIGHLY recommend Sabah, Borneo for diving, and there is an abundance of wildlife such as 'rangas etc in parks.

we are spending 5 nights in KL, and then another 9 nights that we haven't really worked out yet. but at this stage, we are going to go to penang for a few nights, then singapore for a couple of nights at the end

Spent one night in Singapore as a stop-over on the way to Phuket. VERY EXPENSIVE. VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. And this was 8 years ago.

Not really set up as a tourist destination IMO. The only real 2 tourist things I remember was the zoo (completely worth it) and the cable car (didn't do that, mum was too scared.)

Penang is Ok, but not a lot to do there unless you like looking at churches & temples.
Stay at Batu Ferringhi (on the north coast) not Georgetown. Georgetown is a hole. In fact lots of holes put together. Drive through it on the way from the airport, you'll see enough. I stayed at Golden Sands Resort in Batu Ferringhi,Image

nice enough place with a couple of nice pools, (beaches in Penang are no good most of the year due to jellyfish) no swim-up bar but the staff are pretty good at bringing the buckets of Tigers or Carlsbergs (about $4-5 a bottle).
Don't eat dinner at your hotel, everyone eats at the food court in the main street, Image
awesome selection of cheap local & western foods, be adventurous, it's all really good, tip big on the first night ($5-10) and you'll be looked after all week, then head to the night markets, about 1km of stalls along side the main road and buy all the crap you usually buy on asian holidays.
The butterfly farm is a good excursion if you have kids, and the tropical fruit farm for a nice walk.
We found it to be a nice place to do nothing for a while.
