Comparison on iPhone 16GB 3GS

I want tethering... i.e. using iPhone as a modem for my laptop.

Optus - $59 Cap
$7 per month + 700mb data + $9.99 per month tethering fee (or an extra 200mb per month for $9.99 and free tethering)
$320 included, plus $350 optus2optus after you've used the $320
40c per 30secs + 35c flagfall, 25c sms/mms
Excess data $0.35 per MB
Total spend = $76 per month

-----

Vodafone - $69 Cap
$0 per month + 1GB data + FREE tethering
$350 included, plus 100 free sms's
40c per 30secs + 35c flagfall, 28c sms/mms
Excess data $0.12 per MB
Total spend = $69 per month

-----

This is why im thinking Vodafone

Yup, so it probably evens out. Although the tethering is a bit of a good thing.

This is what I'm on, I would've suggested this but you said Vodafone.

The 1g cap is great for me as I'm on the Internet on it all the time (Facebook etc) and I never get close to the cap. When my Internet was down for that month I had just gotten my iPhone so I was on it CONSTANTLY and I hit like 700mb. Great customer service too, I had to call em twice and they were awesome.

I do go over my cap sometimes, considering spending $10 more a month for the increased plan.
