You're a Bunch of Factors

Hi all ,

Thought i would pass on a few notes of my 6 days in Melbourne , "Poker Tour" !

Firstly i would like to thank 888 for the opportunity , and invite .

Well it started off with the 5:30am alarm on the morning of 3 June , bags and esky packed , kids up ready for school , 7am departure from home !
Arrived at airport just after 8 , (yes that is 1 hour to get from Lizbef ) , to be greeted by Mike !
Stroll to the check in , and we get VIP treatment straight to the front of the HUGE line , 50 questions as to what is in the esky , but all answered correctly .
"You done your homework didn't you" says Mel's the lovely check in chick !
"Yes , i sinit the tv shows" i replied !
All checked in , and we are informed our flight is delayed due to Melbourne's dodgy weather .
Our flight that was due to leave at 9:35 is now leaving at 10:30 , nice start .
We get the VIP treatment again boarding the plane , seated and ready to fly , only to be further delayed by some red seat passengers not there yet .
Up in the air we are told NO food aboard due to the delays , Mike was starving , i could see him shrinking sitting there .
Approx an hour or so later , i said to Mike "are we going around in circles ?" , as we could see the sun on one side of the plane and then the other , only to be told by the pilot we are further delayed due to traffic ! (if only they would build an express way in the sky , they wouldn't have traffic jams)
Finally landed at 1:00pm Melb time .
On the lift down to the taxi i asked the guy in the lift if he was Victorian , he said yes , so i kicked him !
"sorry mate just had to kick a Vic , i am South Aussie" ... he laughed and kicked me back !

Taxi to the city where Mike is staying . Mike checked in , then we meet CC (coolcall) , chat , coffee , and off to the train i go .

Train trip had a funny moment when a group of school kids were mucking around and one pulled out a deodorant can and sprayed his mate , stinking the area out . I looked at him and said "why the hell are you carrying around your sisters perfume ?" , which bought an eruption of laughter from the passengers ! Schooled he was told by his mates !

Off the train and taxi to the "Chateau de Harps" , to be greeted by the man himself !
Greet , chat , drink , and a giggle , and the boss arrived home . Lovely people !

Ok .

Off to the Tigers Club we go to have a bit of fun .

Ok , off to the Tigers we went ..

Had to taste their dimsins

First hand i look down at pocket 4's , UTG+1 , so i decide to raise to 175 , sb and bb call , 8 K 2 flop , check to me , so i cbet 175 , sb and bb call again , Q turn , check to me again , Hmmmnn , i don't think they hit , the pot is just over a k , so i fire in a 600 , fold fold , ty very much .... image set !
Rest of the tourney was pretty much having a bit of fun chippin Harps up at one stage , then taking them back only to ship them to Giz chasing hands
I was bb , 4 or 5 limpers so look down at J 2 , so i check , flop J 8 2 , i am in for a chip up here i think so i push them in , fold fold fold call , i show me 2 pair , he rolls A 8 , i am in front , woot woot , yes yes then he flushed me on the river ! Oh well out mid field

So i decide to buy into the cash game which was due to start in about 25 ..
Harps and Giz still in game , until Giz made a "brave" call to Harps's all in with another caller in .. A 9 soooouited he rolls , A 6 , 4 4 , Giz hit her 6 on the river to take the man out .. Not happy he was , so i buy him into the cashie aswell

Sit at a rather loosish table with the fella on my right having to use his card 2 hands in , then only to be knocked out 3 hands later .. Small field of 22 so the plan was to take a couple of pots then bide my time to the FT .
Was noting a rather aggressive player (Nathan i think) , the other tables were losing players quick so before we knew it we were down to 2 tables (13 players) , i take some chips give some chips , then i took out Harps on the FT bubble (sorry mate) , gave me an avg stack going to the FT .
Seat 7 , nice , for some reason i like that end of the FT , seat 3 button . By the time bb came to me there was 7 left , blinds go past , and by the time they came round again we were down to 4 , some young lady in seat 2 doing the work for us .
Blinds 3k/6k
My bb there was 2 callers , and sb Sam (Tiny:))folds as he was short stack , trying to survive to the cash , i have about 10k behind me , flop 2 K 6 , checks all round , turn J , checks all round , river 10 , check , it is on me i look at my cards and , (its time to chip up or cash out) , ALL IN i say , seat 2 tanks tanks , i cant call and folds , instant fold from Nathan* , i roll 5 8 off for the play of the night , apparently seat 2 had Q J I now have a decent-ish stack to play with .
Next to go was ss Tiny , gg mate .

WOOT WOOT in the $$ .... seat 2 big stack , Nathan short , me ok !

A couple of nice steals and hands and i find myself in front , Nath goes all in i look at A J soooouited , so i call , only to not hit and double him up . I think stacks were pretty even now (maybe Nath was in front)
My bb seat 2 calls , Nath calls , i look at K 10 sooouited , ALL IN , she tanks then calls , Nath folds . oh dear i think i am in trouble !
I roll my K 10 she rolls QQ , she hits set on the flop , oh dear i am goneski , J on the board and i am calling for a 9 ... river 9 , thank you very muchly , seat 2 out , heads up with a stack
I steal a couple of blinds and i am dominating , i think Nath had about 11k , and he is bb for 6k , cards get dealt and i extend my arm to catch them , holding them at armsreach , i put you all in i say , without looking at my cards , he checks his cards and says ok , rolls his cards , and i roll A A ... OMFG WOW ! ! what a way to take the game !! !

*Please note*
Due to medium level alchohol consumption we can't quite remember "exact" hands , but we think we are pretty close , and i am sure i will be corrected , but that is about the gist of the tour of Tigers ! !


Tis only my 2nd venue win , and i was stoked to get another card gaurd , only to misplace it before we left , pretty sure i left it on the bar when i got runner up a drink !

Oh well , will have to just win another one then !
