Hey gang.
So my website Gamer Within is running a little competition. We're giving away 5 copies of the latest FPS/adventure game to come out of the Codemasters camp, Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty for the 360. And to win a copy all you've got to do is answer this simple question:
Q. In what year did Nazi intelligence developers launch a surprise attack on America invading New York?
(The game deals in an alternate reality). You can find all competition details (terms and conditions, how to enter, etc) right here.
Hint: You can find the answer here.

From the competition page:
Gamer Within wrote:Here at Gamer Within we’ve managed to snag five (5) copies of Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty for Xbox 360.
So yes. 5 copies for the 360, if you own a PS3/PC we will not be switching them over. Hell, even though I don't own a 360 I'd still enter (if I was allowed to). You could always sell it/give it away.

Good luck. Yeah, a FPS (with adventure elements, I think). But a core FPS.
Check out the Wiki page for more info.

Definitely Sounds interesting.
As a construction worker trying to survive a war. Definitely takes a different outlook on the FPS category. Rather than being the soldier and taking everything out a la Halo and other games.
Using people as body shields and grappling, might definitely make the gameplay a bit frustrating but still just enough to hopefully give it its own unique niche in the FPS arena.
Might pick it up if i don't win. Think there are a few other games i need to grab also. LOL Darn, not enough time in a day anymore.

Yeah I think that's what they were going for, something different for the FPS genre - it is severely over populated with formulaic, linear crap. It definitely looks interesting, but you've got to do a lot right to stand out from the crowd if you're developing a FPS nowadays (especially for the 360).

Re: Win a free Xbox 360 game!
Remember playing Thief on the PC.
First Person Sneaker with arrows and cudgels. Weird storyline, but great game. If you killed people couldn't leave the body behind in the middle of the well travelled hallway, because someone would find it and turn on the Alarms.
Think i played a demo of Half Life. Knew there was an enemy around the corner, and he knew i was around the corner also. Next thing i see is a grenade being lobbed into my area. Cheeky bastard. Loved that Ai.
Guess the FPS is a simple genre, but it can definitely has heaps of room to make something in it a little bit unique.
FPS Gladiator combat. no ranged weapons have to get in close. FPS Evolution, have to create weapons from stuff you find. E.t.c Still have games that will eventually make it sound so difficult, but would be fun to play.
tossing up the idea about EA's Spore though.

F.E.A.R is a great FPS (played it on PC)
when i first played, turned the speakers and the sub up as high as they would go, and turned all the lights off. Scared the crap out of me!
