As stated earlier in the thread, NPL HU isnt really HU.
Heck after the 2nd break most people should be in fold or shove mode, with 500/1K or 1/2K blinds and stacks of around 10K thats an M of 6.6 and 3.3 respectively, and 3.3 is definitely push/fold territory (so can 6.6 be).
But I get told at the tables, "Dont you know its bad luck to count your chips at the table?"
to which I respond "How do I know what my M is then?" (and "Where lese am I supposed to count them")
only to hear "What is M?"
And its usually worse at the FT.
I sat down at the FT a few weeks back in the chip lead with around 60K, and blinds of 5/10K, which makes me ridiculously short-stacked, and I was leading!
Some players only have 1 SB or 1 BB come FT time....
I was SO disappointed the 1st time I got to the HU stage of an NPL (OK OK now 888PL) tournament.
As everyone has been saying, these are short-stack super-turbo tournaments. Mainly good for perfecting your play in those situations in proper tournaments.
[Edit: NO disrespect intended to 888PL away games, by 'proper' I am refering to deeper stacks and longer, more relaxed levels]
