<Raises hand>
I, dear sir, am also greatly interested in said event. All I need to work out now is what team is worthy of my donkey like stature...

Re: TEAMS EVENT (NPL STAFF VS. THE REST)
Teams Event - Good.
Point Structure. Probably would change to a shootout style tournament.
Scenario 1 - Current.
Chip dumping scenario's, collusion, signalling. Could get team members dominating one table. A la State finals with Albury players (APL event in Victoria).
Total Points to be Counted 28919. Not to mention having to have 240 seperate entries to be worked out. Difficult to decide the winner.
Scenario 2 - Shootout.
Seperate team member on a table.
Points 1st 5, 2nd 3, 3rd 2 4-8 1.
On the list of team players only have to record the numbers down, then a quick and easy addition for total team scores. Obviously 40 being maximum. and 8 being minimum. Also allows for larger stacks and relaxed blinds.
Can do 3 rounds of 10 tables. Caters for a smaller venue. Can even have team challenges. 2 tables for 2 teams (4 from each team on each table) to play off against each other. as side events.
Scenario 3 - Shootout into Tournament.
Start with shootout format. top 2 from each table progress into tournament phase.
Points 1 for each person knocked out. 3 for winning table 2 for 2nd.
60 players with 60 - 1 point spread. i.e winner gets 60 first out gets another 1.
Less people to record. Possibly bit more fun. Longer day.
Think with scenario 2 you can get away with less staff as well, and can field a couple of NPL TD teams.
Quick ideas for how i would lay it out.

Re: TEAMS EVENT (NPL STAFF VS. THE REST)
how about....
One person from each team per table. Points for finishing position on that table only ie 1 for first out and 8 for winning it (eliminates knocked out at roughly same time but diff table problem), add up total points per team and factor in jokers. Winning team plays off against each other (hehe 'well done now DIE') for the prize.
Should teams tie for points then pick a player (or make the joker do it) and play-off for it in a <however many handed> semi-final table.
???

Re: TEAMS EVENT (NPL STAFF VS. THE REST)
Still have to record every person that gets knocked out. That is the difficult part of the entire thing
Or going to each table and recording the order that they get knocked out. Makes it hard on the staff involved.
Scenario 2 only have to record 3 names for each table. and you can see them as they get knocked out. If the TD's are organised enough, can write down the names of the final 3. and the Teams they are with.
Last thing you want in a teams event is a protest over points. And then arguments, if it is all cut and dried, people can't complain. I have seen it happen before, and there was decent prizes on offer. So keep it simple would be the motto. Less pen strokes easier to maintain it all.

A sheet of paper for each table, write their name down as they get knocked out.
Add em up at the end.
Easy.

Yeah. I am up for that.
If anyone has a spot to fill (In a team of players), throw me a line.
