it was meandering along for the first half of the season, i thought the same, that it wasn't going to be a good season, but they have really stepped it up in the last few weeks

Re: DEXTER
It's good. Can't wait for the last episode.
I can't help but think it feels different though. Even though a few of the books were average, they were dark and evil. The current season, whilst having similar undertones, seems more like a stretched out mystery thriller.
In the books, Dexter teachers Astor and Cody (IIRC) the "ways". Obviously never happens in the TV series, though they seem to be exploring it through Julia Stiles' character.

I love this show, no 2 ways about it.
The season 4 finale.... Holy cow pats batman, I was blown away.
I'll be up to ep 7 season 5 tonight, I can't help but wonder where Quins character us headed.

yeah, i think they thought that turning astor and cody into murderers would be a little too dark for TV and might turn people away, so you are right, it seems that they have incorporated these elements into Lumen.
I am still enjoying the show, but I dont think they could ever match season 4, that was just brilliant, the best TV i have ever seen.

Re: DEXTER
Season 5 has/had great potential.
I just found some aspects really thin.
I did like the mystery surrounding the old friends, with the women etc. But, the back story and even the current story was a bit thin. I don't know. I do like JLM though.

Re: DEXTER
JLM is crushing, end of.
I considered ep 9 of S5 of the top five episodes of the series, great mix of drama and emotion.
So keen for the series finale.

Re: DEXTER
E11 didn't have quite the ending I was expecting after reading all this. Shorts for E12 looked incredible tho
