Ok what is the most effective play in your mind to take down this pot? Folding isn't an option.
Well lets ignore the fact that they are short stacked - I agree that pushing the flop or check raising all in is the right play if shortstacked.
However lets say we are 100BB deep. I would raise the flop with an OESD 80% of the time. If he raises more than 3 times my flop bet I would fold but if it is less than 3 times I may flat 60%, fold 40%. If he flats I would revaluate on the turn depending on whether I made my straight, a spade falls etc.
If I checked (and I don't think I ever check here) - I might reraise some of the time depending on his bet and then revaulte as above but most times I think flatting is a better option than raising although benny the cunt does highlight good reasons to c/r.
Once I flat the turn card will dictate the rest of my play if I make a straight I am checking to trap 60% of the time or making a small smized bet to induce a reraise. If I see a brick or a spade I am most likely done with the hand and c/f.
