BLAKE

Postby todd182 » Fri May 08, 2009 8:35 pm

Ok i made a short film a few months ago which has now been posted on youtube, obviously going by the title its called blake and its a super heroish film, this s the first of what i believe will be a 4 to 5 part series, with me playing the lead in all.

i'll admit this isnt my best work but it is by far the most professional thing i've been in, we start shooting the 2nd part next week end and that will also be posted on youtude, its in to 6-8 mins parts the links are below, i dont mind it, i made some good friends a few connection and hopefully it'll be a foot in somewere in future.

got a wee bit of heroes feel too it.

Don't know how you storyboarded it out, but on the internet i think you want it to be quick enough for people to be interested.

E.g Start off with the hero all dressed up, Somewhere in Adelaide, Ready to stop a crime, kill someone, and the ask himself, how did i become this. Then do the flashback sequence.

What comic book writers are your inspiration for this though?
Or what current series?

If you get a chance, check out Kick Ass by Millar and Romita Jr, about a kid that decides to stop reading and be a superhero. Gets his ass kicked (hence the nickname) but is quite a good read.

i didn't mind it

i thought the editing was pretty good, although the camera work was a bit shaky at times - although this is completely expected and ok for a backyard operation

i agree its a fair bit like heroes though

thanks you two yeah this is very low budget, $1800 for everything in this film, but the sequel will have battle scenes and more effects and has a budget of $4100 so should be better.

and i think i get a little pay rise to. the writer is a mad comic book fan but i dont know his idols are. and now i think of it, it is very heroes.
