Why make the point in the first place? Just makes you look like a tool for comparing people's struggles and which one is "better".

its just a discussion muzz

people were making a point of how "great" his achievment was... i was just saying i think that meares was better because of what she had to overcome.

its just opinions man, no one is right or wrong - and i respect other peoples views

im suprised people are taking it so seriously actually, but hey, ive always liked a good discussion about anything, so im happy to contribute

put forward your views maybe instead of your usual way of just making a little comment here and there... get involved brother!!

90% mental? ok im going to the olympics in weightlifting, bye guys
oh hang on, im not physically capable to lift those weights, oops

so anna meares over coming physical and mental issues after her crash is less than his overcoming of his wife's death? this is the point im trying to make

obviously you or i cannot go to the olympics, you are missing the point.

the point i am making is because they are all pretty much equal physically, then this effectively gets cancelled out, and so it becomes who can stand the pressure etc.

It has been shown that throwing money at the top level in fact DOES have a positive effect at the lower levels. Rcon, why do you think there was all those kids playing soccer at para hills when you drove past?

Without the millions they have thrown into finally getting a decent national competition established then thousands of kids would be playing soccer. (yes world cup qualification helped also, but the A-league being so good has had a major effect)

Are you seriously serious? It's been the single most popular junior sport in the entire country for effing YEARS. It may well be even bigger now due to recent success but it was already the biggest well before that.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
