since HE retired, and HE said he's retired for good, because he wants more time with his kids, it's fair to say you need to move on.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

Re: squad for south africa
im wary of people that say that someone has only two years in them, so we should look to the future.
we play a lot of test cricket nowadays, and mcgain might play 30 tests in a career. Boof only played 27.
Sure picking mcgain for one series would have been a joke, but two years of extra development in krejza, hauritz, cullen, jon holland, steve smith, aaron heal, daniel doran or xavier doherty has got to be a good thing.
any one of those players could be a bolter and be ready for test cricket in two years time. if we played one of the last few on that list esoecially, they could be eaten alive.
Think about when a young nathan hauritz going to india 4 or 5 years ago and getting absaloutely belted. it screwed him up pretty bad and it has taken a change of states and 4 seasons to resurect his career.
McGain is a great selection in my opinion.

I turn the ball a hell of a lot for a finger spinner... yet I only played SACA B grade cricket... spinning a ball a fair way does not make you a good spin bowler.
