never a truer word has been spoken.

there is only two things worse than a port adelaide supporter

1. A collingwood supporter
2. Someone that jumps on the bandwagon - i.e how many people are suddenly geelong supporters now?

I disagree.

Clubs love bandwagon supporters.
And they are good for clubs.

If there weren't bandwagon supporters, clubs wouldn't increase membership numbers.

I just take what they say with a grain of salt.

Nothing wrong with that.

Teams who have recent success - will talk it up.
Teams who have earlier success - will talk THAT up.

Of course, nothing annoys me more than people who think the success of their club reflects on them.

And those not successful, mean the support isn't successful either.

The measure of a supporter is how much they love their club in the bad times, more so than the good.

You must be an West Torrens supported (follower) or wait maybe a Woodville supporter :? :? :?

Or maybe both :)

(since I've already said that in this thread!)

of course clubs like the bandwagon supporter.

but personally i dont like them.

example - i have a mate that was a crows supporter (members and season ticket holders) through and through, but geelong was his clear second team - clearly second though.

but since geelong have been doing so well, he has become geelongs best supporter, to the point where he has got a membership for them now.

thats annoying - stick with your clubs during the rough times

I disagree.

Some people aren't as passionate. Can't help that.
If they want to change - let them.

I once heard a saying about football supporters, from a gentleman named david the moderator. As a passionate west torrens supporter, he was obviously gutted when his team had to merge.

West torrens had been unsuccessful for a number of years, and out of this turmoil, he had this to say.

"The measure of a supporter is how much they love their club in the bad times, more so than the good."

I think this is something we can all reflect upon and take with us into our everyday life.
