Because unlike Clarke he has experience at Captaining in the longer form of the game. Clarke captaincy in the shorter forms has been mediocre at best.

He also isn't anywhere near as mentally fragile as Clarke.

His recent 18 months has left me seriously doubting Clarke's Captaincy aspirations.

Watson has only just balanced his game out after nearly a decade of trying.

I'm a huge fan but I NEVER want him to captain. Let him do his own thing and watch him become brilliant, without piling on extra pressure.

This! But I am not a huge fan and he will never be brilliant....

As far as Clarke/White goes, Clarke has far too much international test experience over White, so is a no brainer....

I'm definately not saying White should be captain. Or even in the the side.

But he would still be a better captain than Clarke.

What have you seen in Clarke that shows you he is a good leader?

And why doesn't Watson impress you?

How about a bowler or wicket keeper as captain ? Why does it have to be a batsman ?
In fact get rid of the selectors .bring in a new group .
Get rid of the ideology that players can only be from 1st NSW , QLD , then pick token other state players .
