Yeah melbourne will still be around the mark.
Sydney are my favourites (and are most peoples) but the big improvers will be perth and wellington along with adelaide who will all make the top 6 at least. I dont rate newcastle, brisbane and NQF who will round out the bottom three.
What odds melbourne heart to finish higher than the victory this season?
On a side note. i have actually spent a fair bit of time picking my fantasy team this season, weather that translates into high scores i dont know, but heres hoping.

Sydney will finish top, followed by Melbourne Heart (best starting 11 in the A-league), Melbourne Victory 4-6 and Adelaide wont make the 6

Re: A-League Season 2010/2011
keeping fit players on the park will be key for adelaide. dodd will already miss the first part of the season, and lecki, flores and van djik aren't the least injury prone guys floating around, but if we can keep those guys on the park, having them at the front of our 4-2-3-1 will make us one of the most attacking teams out there in my opinion.
it also looks pretty likely that we will lose eugene, but even without him we still have one of the best defenses going around. Mullen will get better, boogard and fyfe/cornthwaite are good in central defese and cassio is still one of the best left fullbacks in the league.
our problem is at the defensive midfield spots as it has been for a while. Losing marrone is a big blow because that kid was a gun, while reid is never fit and adam hughes is a complete hack. I wouldn't be surprised if we are still trying to add another central midfielder to our squad in the next few weeks.
If the form we showed in the champions league stays with us, i see no reason why adelaide won't challenge for the top 6. here is my predicted ladder anyway.
1. Sydeny FU
2. Perth Glory
3. Melbourne Heart
4. Wellington Phoenix
5. Adelaide United
6. Melbourne Defeat
7. Gold Coast United (this is shane smeltz dependent though)
8.Central Coast Mariners
9. Newcastle Jets
10. Brisbane Roar
11. North Queensland

Re: A-League Season 2010/2011
Dodd is a hack and the most wasteful player in the A-league, hes as bad a berbatov for Man U. Leckie, Van Dijik and Flores are key to a successful season for Adelaide, apparently the new coach isn't impressed by Flores because he doesn't have any defensive qualities to his game and so has to create a lot of attacking supply to stay in the team.
Eugene leaving will hurt us so much, hes the key to our defense to strongest part of our team.
Alright if invite a friend to our league?

Re: A-League Season 2010/2011
yeah do it JD. the more the better. anybody can join.
i agree with dodd about the wasteful part. he would be a socceroo if his finishing was half decent. he is still great at creating chances though.
eugene is named this week, so we can assume he will play a few games before signing somewhere else (russia, greece and turkey are his main options apparently). The cynic is me wants him to do a 4 week groin strain in tomorrow nights game so he doesnt get signed overseas and we keep him for the season.
The bye is going to be hard to manage each week. e.g. i picked three wellington players in my squad (North, Sigmund and Ifil) before realising they had the bye. The one free transfer a week will help though.

Hasn't the European transfer window shut. This would mean Eugene is staying until atleast the next window

European Window is certainly not shut.
Galekovic is good enough to keep in the championship or a really good League 1 side. Would be much better than going to Turkey. But if he can get a gig in the Russian League, then that would be soooo effing awesome, most underrated league in the world the Russian Premier League.

I joined private league. Set up a temporary team. Will be watching games closely for value picks.
