Brownlow Question

Anyone know anything about the Brownlow Medal?

Rob Shirley from the Adelaide Crows recently got a game or two for something, not sure what, but it was during and SANFL game. Does anyone know if that would effect his Brownlow chances next year? I know he's probably not a chance anyway, but let's assume he polled enough votes to win, would this scrub him out?
In saying that, lets say a player from a Victorian club plays a week in the VFL for what ever reason and gets one game for striking or something, would that rule him out of the AFL Brownlow?

Just something that popped up over the brekky table this morning.
:D

Was this a finals game? Penalties recieved in finals games do not rule anyone out of the brownlow for the previous year, or the next.

Im pretty sure that suspensions in SANFL do not rule you out of winning the brownlow in the AFL, but your suspension obviously applies for both SANFL and AFL grades.

A player suspended in the AFL can still win the Magarey (i think). Im probably just guessing here, but it seems right.
