BREAKING NEWS: Carlton has sacked Brendan Fevola.

The Blues advised the wayward full-forward today he would be offered for trade.

They told his management the Brownlow Medal night scandal was the final straw in a stormy 10-year association.

It is a stunning development, given he won the Coleman Medal this year with 89 goals, was named in the All Australian team and still has two years to run on a contract worth $700,000 a year.

Fevola, who turns 29 in January, is holidaying on the Gold Coast with his family.

Off to Sydney I say!! I reckon the Blues will offer to pay like $200K of his salary too (or isn't there some AFL Law that say they HAVE to make up any shortfall?)

Shaun Burgoyne to Hawthorn, Pick #9 to Carlton and the Fevolution to Port, (and piss off tredrea)

not a port fan at all, but that could work, come to adelaide to escape a bit of the spotlight, always plays well at AAMI, and would help get some more people to games,

Don't mind that actually. There was talk of him coming over here a few years ago.. maybe chuck in some other pick upgrades, or someone like Adam Hartlett to Port (the bruvva club).

Salary cap could be the issue there junior burger, although with both Burgoyne's gone then will have some room. I wonder what the Western Bulldogs will do at this news? if i was them i would shelve plans to get barry hall and try to get the best goal-kicker in the comp...

They could still get both. Hall will have to play for peanuts.. Sydney want 2nd round pick, Dogs giving 4th... Offer 3rd, see how you go.

Then 2nd round & someone like Everitt for Fev.

He'd be worse in Adelaide... look at how Mod's ended up?

Sydney isn't a huge AFL town, less spotlight there, better fit.

Carlton will struggle to kick big enough scores to win games without Fev, Betts, Cloke etc. wont kick enough, will have to either play Waite back up forward (which would suck cos hes a gun chb), or rely on Warnock playing a lot so Kruezer can play a fair bit up forward and kick some goals
