on the weekend, i worked out that you can bet on aussie rules games using your 888 account

just open up the 888 poker client, and in the bottom right corner, there is 888 sport. this takes you to a page where you can see all the odds etc, and you just use the cash that is in your poker account (goodbye healthy poker roll )

the system is way less user friendly than some others like sportsbet.

i haven't worked out how to do multi bets, im not sure if they do it or not.


had a good weekened though, had $20 on the lions @ $2, and i gave st kilda a 20.5 point head start for $10 @1.80 against freo, and they only won by 15, although they scored 3 points in the last 5 mins of the game.


does anyone else regularly bet on the footy?

i would be interested in discussing tips on a weekly basis, putting 10-20 on per week

I'd probably bet on it more often if it was linked to one of my poker accounts. Think I might give it a try this week. Hopefully they do have multi bets, I love love those.

yeah, i am pretty sure i will bet most weeks now, because i dont have to have a separate roll

since i am a gun at poker, and i crush the competition, they have to find ways (blackjack and sports betting) to get me to give them more money

On the flipside, I need some big betting wins to fund my loserish tendencies at the tables.

This week might be the first time ever I'm confident to put money on Freo to win by more than 30.

i think freo on the line would be a good bet this week, assuming they give them less than 30 head start (which is probably unlikely)

cant see what odds they are offering this early in the week (if at all) at work.

might be able to get some ok odds on hawthorn, since they were smashed last week.

I bet a fair bit on footy last season. Ran my $50 free sportsbet account through FHG to over $300, then back to $200. When footy season finished i started losing cash, mainly cos i continually bacled the reds in the a-league lol. And when the summer holidays started i decided to smash some full tilt for a few weeks, so it put that $200 in my full tilt account. But i would be keen todiscuss a few bets benny the cunt and whack a couple on each week. we always said we would do a bit of a syndicate...

Me and a mate used to put $10 a week each onto sports bets and tallied up our losses at the end of the year. Rotated the person each 3 weeks (his brother too) who laid the bets. Worked well, of the $30, usually about $10 was on some other sport than AFL/soccer, and it made it interesting.

i am also thinking about the crows @1.91 for a +39.5 start. given the bake they have had in the paper this week, i reckon they will get closer to teh dogs than this, but i dont think they will win.

for those that can do multi's, sydney into st kilda into geelong for $1.78 would be a good bet this week as well

Freo has played the top 2 teams in consecutive week away from home. Both matches were hard fought and i can see freo being a little off this week.

Brisbane at line -19.5 $1.92
The price slightly out because brisbane have won only 2-11 at the mcg in recent times. Melbourne haven't won 3 in a row since 2006 and it wont continue

North Melbourne to win margin between 1-39 $3.75
Domination in the ruck should make this game closer than people will expect and i can see North Melbourne causing an upset.
