This was at the Arkaba, and just like our normal events we ran a registration process for all in attendance. So Roo and his posse roll up the stairs and he is directed too me, it went a little something like this...
Me: hi mate, hows it going?
Roo: Good thanks, you?
Me: Yeh, going great.. what was your name?
Roo: <with a puzzled looked> Mark
Me: Cool, what was you surname?
Roo: <looking even more puzzled> Riccuito...
Me: How to you spell that?
Roo: R I C C U I T O
Me: thank mate, hope you enjoy yourself.
Several seconds later...
Me: Who's that guy? gave me a bit of attitude at rego...
Brock: that's Roo? How do you not know who he is?
Me: Who is he tho?
Brock: Captain of the Crows, and living legend...
Me: oh.. like i care.
Few months later, when i met Roo for the second time (brag) Brock and I down at the Kensington Hotel doing a photo shoot with the National winner of our Sports Pick Competition - $25,000 for AFL tipping. Roo and the winner do a few shots, Brock and the winner do a few shoots, then Roo, Brock, Venue manager, the Winner and this blonde guy do a few shots...
Later on the way out...
Me: So who was that blonde guy and why did he keep jumping in all the photographs?
Brock: That was Simon Goodwin
Me: Who is that?
Brock: Captain of the Crows... Don't you know anything?
Me: like I care...
