In approximatly the same amount of time you have played 2 extra blind levels net effect the field is greatly reduced by natural attrition.

This does seem to have merit..

Start stacks for the game is question? Number of chips in play?

With our current stack format and average player numbers, what you suggest would happen as benny the cunt says. It's not "crap", as you so eloquently put it.

5000 ss and 5000 per card x2 = 15000 in total.

Now lets look at the progression of pub poker .....we started with 1000 x 1000 x 1000 we are now at 5k x 5k x 5k and the games in the venues dont seem to run any later than before then we also had recalls and bad beat tables.

Why not trial it in a few venues that have 40-50 runners, a get some factual evidance rather than mathmatical theory, I know it works because I have played it a number of times so my observations are based on fact.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Current Blind/Ante Structure

I see you completely disregarded this aspect of my first post.

Caleb Rybalka wrote:We have to have a set structure regardless of the number of runners. The tournament structure is as advertised before rego is opened and cannot be altered, regardless of how many players turn up.

"Trialling" your suggestion at a venue with 40-50 runners is all well and good (this structure was trialled before being introduced, and feedback sought), but what about venues that get 80+ runners?

The structure is set regardless of venue/runners. We could make an optimal structure based on 50 runners, but as soon as we get over that it just wouldn't work.

You have to plan for the "worst case" scenario, which would be 1.5M+ chips in play, with a game that is advertised to be finished in 3.5 hours.

What you are suggesting just isn't feasible on an overall scale.

How many venues get 80+ runners every week in each state.

And just for the record the advertised structure on the 888pl wed site is wrong.

http://www.888pl.com.au/Documents.asp?I ... n%29+Games

So the advertised structure is a nonsense

What difference does that make? So because not many venues get that many runners means we should create a structure that is prohibitive of venues being able to run a game in a timely and efficient manner if they get over a certain number?

Ignoring a venue that gets that many players just because it's the anomaly is just plain silly.

And that website clearly states the structures are for SEASON 1, 2011. So clearly not for the current seasons.

What is the APL blind structure, ive been told its set nation wide? Do you think both leagues will come into line, if so which stucture will be used, will it be APL as they are the majority.

In my opinion why cant a venue have its own structure, even different starting stacks. Im sure differences already exist and have existed in the past. If whats advertised is not even correct whats the problem with horses for courses.

We have a couple different structues, venue dependant, only change really is the start stacks in which some are 'Deep' and other are not, however we have NO ante at any stage in any games.

Average game length 3.5 hours
Man who runs in front of car gets tired,
man who runs behind car gets exhausted.
