I never meant to indicate that I was complaining - rather I was explaining. I believe I have an easy job, mainly because I care about it enough to do my level best, which can only help.
I was merely pointing out that the downsides are there. They are numerous as well. When things go wrong they can go really wrong. And as we are "front-line" staff we are always the ones who have to deal with it. We are just blessed to have such strong support from main office and for the most part, our players as well. That's the reason our job looks easy at times.

To be honest, I never saw your post as being anything BUT a complaint about your job, it came through as a night in the life of a TD. So personally I think it came through well.

LOL... it is probably also the reason it doesn't look so easy at times

It has been brought to my attention that this looks VERY anti-TD. It isn't intended to be that way.
I just want to explain why I brought this up.
It was mentioned about NPL bringing in cash games and the TD that brought it up just said it seemed like something that can present a variety of problems for them.
If you think about it and watch players around you, how would a majority of them be if cash games are introduced? So now a TD has to run a free poker tourny and a cash game?!?
Isn't that expecting a lot from them?
And again this is not the time or the place for these discussions this will no doubt arise once NPL have made their decisions about introducing new games.
I will be honest, I had a crap night on Friday, but again, that only kindasorta-inaroundaboutway spurred on this discussion and not been the sole reason for bringing it up.

Yeah fair call Caleb, i was probably a little harsh in my reply (maybe it was my time of the month) and i focussed on a small section of your post rather than the whole thing. So, sorry mate.
TD's do a fantastic job, and i hope my reply wasn't viewed as TD bashing - i was just making a point that the downsides of that particular job can be bad, but nowhere near as bad as many many other jobs. Some people were making out like being a TD was the worst job in the world, when it so clearly isn't.

JJ - I've no idea how your post could have looked anti-TD. You quite clearly went out of your way to stress that it wasn't. There's absolutely no problem with it and I'd go so far as to say that if sum1 suggested otherwise they need to learn how to read.
Bob - wtf is a 'finantially' ?
P.S. Yes, as a matter of fact I am cranky. I just got home and realised that no there is not an iced coffee waiting in the fridge. This is an outrage.

So nothing different from what happens every time I see you, hey Bob
Bob B wrote:No seriously, do you really have the nuts and fortitude for the position?
Honestly? I don't think so. I'm not confident enough to run a crowd, for one. Most of that could be attributed to my stutter, though. Once I move past that, it would be a lot easier. And having a car would help.
Bob B wrote:And the hair!!!! What can we say about the hair? Yep, that's about it for the hair thingy.
Everyone loves the hair, just admit it.

As long as I don't take KFC orders? Huh?
Oh, definitely be more fun. And I could work both jobs anyway, KFC then straight to poker. Its something I'm thinking about, though

Re: Do we expect too much from TD's?
is this another I (heart) NPL thread? Booooo-ring.
Look - TDs do their best, of course they do, it is their job, end of story. One woud be fairly foolish not to do their best in an environment which is publically viewed and monitored on an internet forum. I know I would be slightly freaked out if my employment status could be debated on an internet forum - it is quite intrusive to debate somebody's employment capabilities. But having said that. the NPL approves of this and other debates so my comments are neither here nor there.
BUT i would just like to recognise the good work NPL dealers do, but the point and exercise of debating the quality and standards of NPL TDs in my opinion is quite harsh and intrusive - not that I have any problem with anybody critiquing somebody's performance... but when it comes to soembody's livelihood - we should all take a step back and wonder how it would be if our job performance was reviewed, critiqued and criticised on an internet forum - i bet you wouldn't like it...
Not that anyone has said anything bad, I just thought i'd raise it given the task TDs have at hand.. Cheers

Pull your head in! It isn't anything of the sort. Actually I resent the idea that it was started up as a way to do a TD/NPL lovefest.
I think this forum has the potential to raise some damn valid points in regards to how TD's do as well as maybe pulls us in line just a little!
nickno1 wrote:One woud be fairly foolish not to do their best in an environment which is publically viewed and monitored on an internet forum.
Crap, I am sure all the other TD's in the other states do just as good as job as the SA ones and they are not monitored on a public forum such as the forums like these ones.
I am pretty sure the fact that this forum exists has absolutely NO impact on the performance given by TD's.

Again, this can only be applied if specific events, individuals, incidents were being cited, I don't see any of that happening in here and if it was, I am pretty damn sure that Annabelle would rather that be brought to her attention in a private manner rather than in such a public way.
