But again, you would want an actual 888pl venue, which the weintel isn't. But that might make the slime inn an option...

If there is a substantial drive involved, I'd want some assurances the day 2 event for those knocked out on day one was structured more like the 1st Berri event (nice and slow, decent start stack 5k), and not like the 2nd one (waaaayyy too fast, and not what was promoted before the event).

That said, I'm all for a poker weekend away, had a blast at both and would love to see it get up again, particularly with a buyin around $50-$100

I'm all for a Berri-style Deep stack. I've only been to one and I had a great time (what happens in Berri stays in Berri).

So sign me up for a deepstack regardless location (Wirra, Barossa, Mildura etc)

But all this talk about a deep stack will be a waste without some sort of commitment by 888pl management to put on the event anywhere.

Is there any such commitment?

As for making it a buy in, I'm for that, however, there are many people who you'd turn away simply by forcing them to pay to play. "I'm not driving all that way to pay $50 and then get donked out."

Pre-paying the $50 is no guarantee to get the numbers. Sure it's going to be a risk, but you can't make anything 100% risk free.

But regardless of the format, BRING IT ON!

I don't think extra playing experiences for those knocked out early will be much of an issue. The previous two Berri Deepstack events were held before the introduction of challenge games (i believe), so having side events (similar to the GF) like grand final sit and go's (etc) which only really require one staff member to run would be the way to go.

Correct me if im wrong here, but i believe the first berri deepstack was born partly from discussion here on this forum, so if we can prove that there would be demand for such an event in the future, then if we ask nicely enough but loudly enough at the same time, then maybe 888pl will consider it.

The best bit about 888pl is that they have always been able to listen to what the punters want (e.g. the return of the kingy deepstack). Logistics/staffing is of course the hardest part of an event like this which serves no point other than an awesome weekend away, but i think many will agree that the berri deepstack weekends have been among the most enjoyable poker experiences ever produced by NPL/888pl.
