Parafield Flying Club was cancelled for good.

This was not an NPL call, but they canceled us.
Sorry Bob, I know you liked that venue but head down to Cavan tonight and I will shout you 1 bad beat and a half brandy.

Cavan had 86 runners tonight, was a really good atmosphere.
Also with $100 cash prize and good food prices, you cant go wrong.

The ALMA had around 130 runners Dakota was gonna be at the Cavan but went there to help out.
Flying Club has shot themselves in the foot as there were going to be another 10 players there tonite.

Re: Parafield flying club
im going to post, but if it gets removed i dont know...
im going to try and get to the piont without going into too much detail...
yes it was our call to cancell the NPL event..
our reasons are simple.. i was not cost effective for us..
the profit we made went straight to npl, we were left with minimal
and for the last 3 or 4 (or maybe even longer) we have benn LOSING money....
honestly we cant be expected to continue if that was the case..
we loved having the poker there, (actually all the regular faces)
unfortunately we could not continue with NPL........
ive never gained anything from running the venue, ive done my best, and i appologise if anyone feels hard done by......
however it was good too still see some regular faces there tonight,
and i will still be playing npl events at pooraka and some others, but i will still be at the club mondays......
good luck at the tables....

I don't think anyone would dispute those reasons, Karl. Good luck with your future poker endeavors.

It was pretty good. Can't believe they squashed everyone in there. I should've folded my way to the points

but they were sooooooted gotta play
always good to hear people's replies when i tell them that being suited is like 2% better than unsuited cards, and so J 9 is still crap whichever way you look at it

Re: Parafield flying club
Hi Karl. Sorry to hear of the club changing colours but I guess the till has to be in favour of the venue.
In hind sight maybe the stamping of cards should or could have been a little tighter. Coupled with a better profit margin on the drinks or dollar value per stamp and NPL still may have been there last night.
Please thank all of those behind the bar and those who made it a successful event. I for one will definately miss going there.
