A visit to a Bridge on the Murray aka Murray Bridge

Postby gundog » Sat Jun 21, 2008 8:57 pm

Four of us made the journey from Waikerie to Murray Bridge to the play the inaugural NPL game on Capt Proud’s Paddleboat.

We departed Waikerie at 5pm arriving at Murray Bridge at 6.30, we boarded the boat to register for the game after you register you visit the bar to pay your $10 cruising fee and get your complimentary drink.

The paddleboat has developed a special poker players menu for those who want a feed before the game starts there is a number of selections ranging from a few dollars to about $15, I decided to have the “The Capt Proud Hamburger” at $10.50 it a true Hamburger with the Lot and Chips and it is enormous I struggled to eat all of it.

Just after 7.30 we were underway for a cruise up the mighty Murray whilst we played poker, we returned to the jetty at around 10.30, three hours cruising the Murray for $10 it is a cheap voyage and you can play poker also what more could you want on a Friday Night.

All four of us DNP,d but I almost made last 2 tables, I was very impressed with the aggressive poker that was played on the final table.

I highly recommend to all NPL players who want to play a very unique venue, then make the journey to Murray Bridge for an excellent venue and well run game.

Congratulations to all those that brought Capt Proud’s Paddleboat venue into the NPL family, I will play there again soon.
42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Bruce & I went up from the Barossa. It was a good, fun night - even when the lights went out for about 10 minutes. You should have seen the die hards playing by the light from their mobile phones.

I just checked the results, 40 runners! not a bad start for something 'so far away'. Nice work guys!
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Hmmm. No phones at the table. They should have all been given 10 minute penalties!
