Re: A Country Bloke is comming to Town
Enjoy your time in the mighy big smoke Gun.
The Woolshed is actually pretty good, it has a pretty good atmosphere and the stamping policy is fair.
Ohhh and some of the TD's are okish... LOL
Nahhh actually the TD's are great, good sense of humours!
I have played at Checkmates in Perrie Street and I really enjoyed it, I honestly expected to walk in to bowchickawowwow music, but it isn't like that at all and the waitresses are just so friendly... The atmosphere is very welcoming.
Their stamping policy is without doubt one of the fairest around.
If you go there, order the chicken pasta, OMG it is ... magnificent!!!!
The only problem is it is a LITTLE bit squishy, BUT, that is only a little bit and it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of the night.
They are Monday and Tuesday late night games, I can't remember when you said you were going to be in the city to be honest.
I hope this helped a little bit, enjoy your stay.
Maybe consider comming up South for a game? We are friendly..

I'm pretty sure JJ meant to say "Pirie St" (we can add street directories to the list of things they don't have down south)
Kentish is indeed very decent.
Royal Hotel @ Kent Town is also a nice place but I'm unsure of how good it is on a wednesday.
Woolshed is your typical late game so don't expect high quality play but they always seem to get a good amount of players.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Re: A Country Bloke is comming to Town
Well there has been a slow response so maybe it wlll be,
Wed
Kentish Arms early game
and a toss up for the late game Glynde/Woolshed
Thurs
Late game most likely Red Square then on to the Strath
Friday
Perhaps the Paradise double header, if I bomb early shoot over to Payneham for their late game.

Re: A Country Bloke is comming to Town
I have a question about the Paradise DH..
If you are buying drinks right, and you are all stamped up by 8pm (that being the first break).. do you have to wait until after 10pm (2nd game rego) to get the stamps? Or do you accumulate the stamps for drinks bought between 8-10?
Bit of a stretch to play the late Paradise AND the last Payneham Gundog. But worth a go (and I'm sure you can be out early enough at Paradise if you try).

i havn't been to a double header game, but surely you could register for both games at the start of the first game
or in lieu of that, some sort of IOU so u can get stamps for the second game while you are playing the first game
