NPL Weekly Deepstack Idea

Thinking about gundog's "What Next" thread, i have an idea.
A lot of venues have double headers on a sunday afternoon for instance. this i would imagine would be particularly good for them, as it keeps people in the venue for meal time.
i have previously talked to some TDs about the idea of holding a deep stack tourney over the afternoon, breaking in the middle for tea, but the reasoning against this would be that half the people leave during the day.
so this is my idea
As part of the normal NPL season, a deepstack tournament can be played on a sunday afternoon, or possibly even on a weeknight where places have double headers already.
structure - players would recieve either 5K or 10K in chips, with passports used for addons, but not rebuys.
the tournament has a relaxed blind structure, that would mean that the tournament would go for about twice as long as a normal tournament.
it would start at say 2 or 3pm, and go to about 6, when it would break for an hour for tea.
at 7 or so, play would resume, and the normal points system would be in place.
for those people that have been knocked out before tea time, a second repechage tournament starts after tea time. this tournament is structured similar to a standard NPL tourney, and is available only to those that were knocked out of the first tourney.
the top 15 places in the repechage tournament would still get points, but they would be awarded at a lesser rate than those playing the deepstack i.e it might be half points for the repechage.
so this means that there would be 2 final tables going at once at the end of the day. this would be ok, because most NPL tourneys have at least 2 staff present. and i am betting a tourney such as this would generate large numbers.
the important thing is, that both games are part of the 1 single tournament, and so there is only 1 leaderboard. this allows players knocked out early to stick around and still keep in touch with the leaders in the main tourney by getting some points in the second tourney.
i think this would be awesome, as it would allow some longer tournaments to be played, instead of the super turbo tournaments. this would encourage better quality poker in the long run. it also keeps players in a venue over the meal times, similar to a regular double header, so it is definitely worth it for the venue. making both games part of the single tournament means that players won't get knocked out and go somewhere else, they will stay and play the repechage.
what does everyone think about this idea?
