Hi there Guys & Gals, I must say I really enjoyed todays events and thank the NPL TD's who made it a great days entertainment. Thanks must also go to the Arkaba for putting on the venue.
I'm not sure how everyone else felt about the day but I must say the majority of people I spoke to found the "PARTNERS EVENT" was the most enjoyable.
Stuart (my partner) and myself made it to 16th and stayed for most of the final table and it seemed to get the thumbs up.
Most comments were along the line of making the FTT a "Partners Event" and back it up with the knock out tourney's as a an add in to keep the punters there.
That's about it for me without rambling on so what's your thoughts on the day?????????
Can one of the Moderators add a % or a YES NO thingy at the top of this post to gauge the responses of;What did you enjoy the most"?THE SHOOTOUT
THE PARTNERS EVENT

Done for you Bob.
The partners event was always the draw card, hence why it was the last event.
I like partners and teams event.
I must say that Adam did an awesome job of managing Vic's event today and Paul and Ernie did a fantastic job as well. Well done boys!
The Partners event will always draw a big crowd and out of the two tournaments was the bigger drawcard by far.
I still have a few other ideas left up my sleeve though Bob.

Thanks Garth, whoohooo!!!!!! 100% for the Partners event, LOL.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun and if they had put all the tables in a cirlce so all the rail birds / partners could see their table it would have made it even better.
Unfortunately, only the tables near the rails or upper section allowed those players partners to watch the game unfold and see how their partner was going hand by hand.
The rest of us had no idea what was happening on our tables that were in the centre or near the final table that was in front of the stage area.
I'm not certain how many played the partners event but there were at least 5 or more tables at the staircase end not being used??? This didn't make any sense at all as they packed everyone into one tight area towards the bar end.
They could have put the tables in a circle or even made two circles initially with the final table in the centre minus the chairs to allow more room. And as the teams got knocked out relocate the remainder to the outer circle of tables and removed the inner ones to make room for the finale.
By doing that and also allowing the partners and or rail birds to use the front of the stage area we could have watched any of the tables that we were interested in.
Today was a first time for something like this and it was great.
So, what I'm suggesting is to hopefully make it more accessable for the TD's, the railbirds and the partners to see their individual tables of interest and enjoy the atmosphere.
Great day well done guys.

i had a great day! The shootout was a good experience.. Knocked myself out in 3rd, should've waited.
The teams event was a great concept, and i will play them every time. The anticipation between rounds, watching muzz clean up some pots was great, and we've now got bragging rights for best placed regular forummers!
The guys did a great job keeping the day going. I didn't see the end of the shootout.. Was there too big a break between events? With numbers down on expected, it seemed to be a while between, but that could've just been because we were losing the cricket.
Can't wait for SF's now!

Partners event was way better obviously due to the structure. Shootout was always gonna be a crapshoot.

I have mixed feelings about today. First of all though, cheers to NPL and the Ark for holding the event.
The shootout: Good fun. I finished something like 5th on my first table, oh well. Few of my friends made FT, that was fun to rail. Probably enjoyed this more than the partners event, which surprised me.
Side tourny: Interesting. But was a crapshoot from 1600/3200 (obviously, you were trying to kick us out, and fair enough. Good enough that you even held a second tourny on the spot). Was a little disappointed to be told on the FT that prizes were vouchers for the Ark, but later on find out that the top 3 received poker books. I ended up 7th, but that definitely would've changed my style of play on the FT.
Partners event: Disappointing. The blind structure was really poor. 100/200, then in 2 levels, 500/1000? And ANTES at 1000/2000? Wtf? My suggestions for the next one:
30 min levels. Start earlier in the day, 10am or so, have the side games afterwards, or running an hour or so afterwards if you want (for players that were knocked out). Same starting stacks, blind levels akin to State finals but not AS relaxed. But something a little bit more normal would at least be needed.
Longer levels is purely because in 15 mins you only got about 5-6 hands in. No time to play poker. 1 min changeover was good, talk strategy and stuff.
Just a few helpful hints. Looking forward to more FTT's tournys in the future.
