You're a Bunch of Factors

Hey all

Spent most of yesterday and last night (oh, and this morning) tinkering with a new theme for the forum. I figured it was time for a full change.

So, like it or lump it, here it is. I think it's a sleeker, more professional design, with features that makes it better than the old.

You can change the font size with the link on the top left part of the screen. You can search (quickly) with the top right.

The layout is fluid, so that those on wider screens will have more area for the forum rather than it being fixed width as the old one was.

The sidebar is neater and better looking and will continue to expand. This will be the place we can put important information, and links, like the Berri Registration.

There are other changes, too - but I can't think of them now.

As I said, I've spent the best part of the last 24 hours on this so tiredness might have set in early Thanks to Scott for being my sound board with ideas and changed!

If there's any issues at all, please let me know.

Quick Reply isn't a function built in to PHPBB, although some other forum applications have it. There are third part scripts to do it but they aren't 100% reliable and thus, I ma not really interested in using them.

I do, however, plan on finding one.

just a heads up that the little icon that shows up at the top of the firefox page near the address bar is still a little NPL logo

otherwise, site looks great.

My old forum used this design just before it got closed down Memories.

But seriously though, I like it. Looks a lot more professional. And yes, Quick Reply ftw!

Having issues with change in font size.

Change does not appear to be global (ie: change it at main index and doesn't propogate through to all other sub-forums).

Also, when going back to the mian index, it's reverted to it's initial size again.

This is even after clearing cookies and cache and restarting browser.


I use Firefox 3.0.10

The font change is javascript, so it's not actually changing any settings anywhere, just have to HOPE it works.

I'll try and sort it out.
