Gawler/Barossa regional's

Postby SlickNick » Sat Jan 26, 2008 3:09 pm

Just wondering if there is a venue 4 the regional's (gawler/barossa)
as a suggestion i believe that a venue in freeling would b the best bet as it is central to everybody Clare,Gawler and Barossa.
I do believe we have 2 Venues which could fit in around 200 people (not the pubs)

The Freeling football club would b my favorite as it has bar facilities or the freeling institute..

P.S Make the regional on a saturday as some people play on sunday's (Clare, kapunda and willaston)

P.P.S I live in gawler!

The gawler rec centre could be another place...I spos?

and a saturday better than a sunday for the players who dont want to miss out on their sunday games...

Hi Guys,
I will leave Darren to follow up on this post but the game will definitely be a Saturday, depending on how many sporting commitments are on in the region. Also the venue will be a current NPL venue, that is yet to be decided but it needs to be of suitable size to hold 150 players. Cheers for the input.

Heya Peoples

I dont have much to say after Garth said it all. When I find out where it is held and what time, Matty and Shannon will be the first to know. They in turn will let you all know at the venues they run.

Just one thing Slicko.... if Freeling FC is such a great place why arent they an NPL venue yet?? Let me know.

Cheers
Darren

nice choice
home venue
Sunday a better day 4 me and others?
many sportspersons on Saturdays out here
venue has weddings/function/tourists on Saturdays
Felicity/Fred good folks
the powers in charge note
spacious venue seats over 220 easily
ample parking,gr8 food.central to regions other venues.
friendly locals
Promotional value for NPL excellent--ie local Radio Station ( have a Strong contact there (me !) ) &/press & venue exposure.

there are PLENTY of footballers, B&G being a country zone, so i would suggest that it be held on a sunday. If anyone would rather play on sat, then say something, but i dont think i am wrong in saying that 90% of people in the barossa/gawler region would rather play on sunday.

Nice try about the Freeling footy club Nick!

Garth this was a tongue in cheek request by us old freeling boys. nick was gonna post, then we were all gonna back him up. might have to get into the local freeling establishments about some NPL out that way though, that would be awesome!

I dont play football but 90% may be generous
75% or greater more realistic.

Certainly a census/vote would appease those who question the Saturday vs Sunday Event schedule.
Perhaps a show of hands at the next venue by the players would give an indication to the Tds and Management of the most suitable day

i wasnt saying 90% were footballers, but i think 90% would like it on sunday, with a lot of them being footballers, or at least following the local footy
