How about we change the redraw card system?

Just throwing around an idea here.
Now, we all know at the second break with 21 runners or more left in the tournament (correct me if I'm wrong here) that a second draw is conducted with everyone's cards. If you card is redrawn, then you're back in with $2000.
It happens every so often that a player that's still in will get his card drawn - how ironic. What if a player gets his card drawn, but he has less than $2000, should he be chipped up to $2000?

I have mentioned this previously.
Doesn't happen TOO often... but yes - you should be chipped up to the amount they get if you're still in with a sub 2k stack.

I like that idea.
I'd suggest that names would still be drawn out until 2 players who were out get re-seated.
Not sure how many extra players would benefit, probably only a couple
Pretty frustrating if you have managed to not get knocked out, and someone who already has lost all their chips (perhaps more than once) comes back in with more chips than you.
I can certainly see why the 2nd draw is there though.

The odds of a player actually getting his name drawn out and having less than $2000 is very slim. I have seen it happen though, but I don't see why not NPL couldn't bring something like this in.
Does anyone think its unfair?

OOOOHHHHHHHH!
I want to reply to this so badly so I will try and be diplomatic as ever.
From an operations point of view I don't have a huge issue with this system.
From a player's point of view and in no way reflective of NPL's thoughts:
What are you doing with less than $2000 at this stage of the game anyway, unless you have been crippled in an all in move then fair enough.
But these people who blind themselves out because they continue to wait for a lock hand or who limp into pots and then fold to a raise or fold their Big Blind for an additional 1000 or whatever.
Gamble people, push your chips in, go for the double up and then go for the win, don't try and limp for the points.
I have to repeat this is my own personal opinion, I am always sitting down in a tournament gunning for the win. I like to accumulate chips early and then gamble a lot when the blinds are up. No point folding or calling off your stack on your way to the points.

You DO have a point Garth - you really shouldn't get that low to begin with.
The NPL is full of people who whittle down to nothing and end up going all in blind.
That doesn't happen often in professional tournaments

BUT IN SAYING THAT - it does seem wrong that you can come in with MORE chips than someone still in.

I repeat that my post was from the perspective of a player.
And that from an ops standpoint I do not have a huge issue with a scenario as mentioned above.
I am currently having enough problems with getting all the staff on to the one track without implementing any other new procedures.
All I can say is play the gamble and push all in with the suited connectors!
