so let me get this right, ... you compete against 399 other people and you can win $100 cash and a poker library (which I already have 11 books in my poker library) so I drive to Chelsea, spend all day there, eat, drink, petrol, ... for $100 ... then I get to play with someone as a team to win $400 or $200 for coming 2nd. If I have missed something please let me know, before I do something really stupid with my final table tokens. :(

noone said you had to go queen

i might be wrong here, but this game has arisen out of a lot of us players feeling that the standard NPL games are a bit stale and boring, and that a lot of us just play them to get into the bigger events that are a lot more fun.

this event will be something completely different to regular NPL

if it was for an NPL trophy only, i still reckon you would see a lot of people register. i definitely would.

Hi Rosemary,

Glad to see you on the forum and posting.

Yes you are exactly right. It is entirely up to you whether you wish to attend or not.

As benny the cunt has stated most of our players are not that interested in what the prize is on offer, as long as their is some sort of prize and a guaranteed great poker experience.

Many players are interested in experiencing different forms of poker and different tournament formats, you should have seen how successful the teams event and the deepstack event was. The teams event didn't even have prizes on offer but still drew a field of 400+.

In essence we will run a similar event every two to three months over next year. It will not always be a $1,000 prize pool but $1,000 in prizes will always be the minimum.

I suggest that you check out the announcement about changes in 2009.

Welcome to the NPL forum.

Hi Garth .... perhaps I should make myself clear with all this, ... I can play poker with these guys any time I want .. in fact, the last 2 state finals I have played in, there have been at least 3 players the same on my initial table. but when it comes to something different, like a teams event ... I would love to play. But unfortunately, I work saturdays til 3 and so even if hubby was to go play earlier, I can't join him to play in the teams event cos I can't get there to play earlier ... I read the details of the new things for 2009 and I am sure you read my other posts, cos one of them was changed and I am pretty sure you would have made that change.

I was hoping that the forum would give us players a chance to voice our opinions anonymously so as not to alienate ourselves, but I can see that is not the case ... so from now on, I will openly identify myself for everyone's benefit. Thanks ... Rosemary
