Re: give country people a chance

Postby queen9 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 7:23 am

I just read the recent posts and have to say that I really appreciate the general attitude in relation to us vics being new here and having the right to post and vent our feelings, especially over old or tired issues

and you are right, I don't want to be known for flogging one particular subject and I was just responding to a previous post, like I am now. There was no 'them and us' - if you are referring to sa's and vics, we are all npl-ians ...lol ... and I was not segregating us - just saying that I am sure you guys have dealt with this and are over it, and the point has been made, so let's move on.

I also appreciate your support of me and the welcome I have had since I arrived in the forum. there are more vics coming on board, some I know, some I haven't quite worked out yet who they are ... lol ... but I'm sure I will over time. In the meantime, I enjoy your posts, your humour, your passion for the game, and look forward to reading more.

Just finished reading all of the posts on this subject and loved the fact that everyone seems passionate about poker which is the reason we are all here. Queen9 I hope you never stop posting as you seem an excellent advocate for the players in your region.
I just wanted to put in 1 more comment in regards to my region and the way it is run. The T.Ds are all very diverse but all very professional and extremely fair and honest. The gentleman in charge of the region is approachable and always looking at ways of improving the experience for players on the night. Each of the t.ds are completely different personalities but each are highly respected and treat players with the same respect.
I feel sorry for the players at venues who are not given this support and if there is any T.D who is behaving in a manner which belittles, harrasses or bullys players I think that this should be reported to management as a group so appropriate action can be taken.
I hope you all have a very merry christmas and that all of your cards are aces!
P.S I hope that Peter Minica blitzs the last few weeks and is back on top again (or second as my husband is in the top 10 again this season and I know how upset he was that he just missed out on top 10 last season lol)
p.ps
Sorry about the spelling I type as well as I play poker which is not very good :?

Just have to say... LOVE the passion.

From a personal point of view, even if I think you're saying the dumbest of dumb things - I'll never fault you for being passionate.

Cazz.. wtf are you on about? nobody has even hinted slightly at any kind of 'them and us' in any way whatsoever. I completely agree with Scott's post, and I completely agree with the longer version that he didn't post.
You're a sensible lady, I'm sure you'll see that you misread it or something.

Heck, I'll even agree with Des's post (buy a lotto ticket Des!).

I'm not saying this is the case, but I'd just like to gently remind people that this isn't a place to come just to have a whinge. Constructive feedback will always be welcome provided it is just that - constructive.

This was touched on earlier but I feel the need to elaborate... we are so very lucky to be able to have a voice that is heard directly by management and I truly believe we are even more lucky to know that management does indeed listen to that voice and more to the point - acts on it.

This forum has previously been described as a kind of official fansite, so I'd like us all to keep that in mind and remember that constructive dialogue will surely be beneficial to everyone.

So far, so good and let's have more of the same.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

madali, I thank you for your words of support and your recognition of my passion and support for this game and for npl. and I am an advocate for many players, it is just a pity that they don't speak for themselves .. although some of them are starting to in the forum (even though some of them are terrible spellers and writers .. lol)

a lot of players come to me about one thing or another, and I try to direct them to garth or brayden, or whoever they should be talking to, but a lot of them are under the opinion that no one listens or no one is interested .... and I KNOW they listen.

this impression by some players, has unfortunately been derived fom comments or attitudes from a td, who quite possibly did not intend it to be taken that way, but some players have difficulty talking to him for fear of the answer, which is often not straight forward. and unfortunately again, we have just lost a great td in Mark, who I believe is no longer working for npl. It will be a great loss as he was highly regarded and respected for both his poker knowledge and his attitude towards the players. He was considered to be the 'players td' as he was so approachable.

In my opinion, and with what I have seen and heard, td's can make or break a venue, make or break npl ... and I think that Mark's departure is very sad indeed as he was one who was on the 'make' side as far as us a lot of us players are concerned.

*Putting up my hands and backing away*

Thats it...
I am not going on anymore about this
I have said my bit and am not entering anymore debate about this on the forum.

Having said that, I do not say I was right, I certainly am not saying I am wrong!

Scott is entitled to send me his 4 page comment, I will absolutely read it privately.
I will also discuss what I am saying privately with anyone that asks me.
But no more public forum discussion on this matter, because this isn't what this topic is about.

if you want to quote someone in full, instead of clicking "reply" click "quote"

if you want to only quote a part of what they are saying, just delete some of the text that you dont want between the quotes.

also, if you click reply, the previous posts are down the bottom of the screen. if you select a portion of the text and then click quote, you can quote a portion that way as well. this is useful if you want to answer someone else's posts in multiple quotations

hope this helps

In addition to what benny the cunt said, when you click on the 'quote' button you'll notice it's similar to when you hit 'reply' in that you are presented with a window ready to be typed in but the difference is it's already populated with the post you hit 'quote' on.

You'll then notice that it has
before what they said and
after what they said. Anything in between those things is what get's quoted so yes you can remove whatever you don't want in there.

Hope that helps.

Caroline, any thought of state versus state bashing is purely your perception and nothing else. You are mistaken on this occasion.
