The problem is the potential damage that could be done to the league's reputation if he behaves badly at the GF. Imagine if a celebrity was on the table. The 888PL has a diverse range of players and while foul language may be accepted by some, I know it will will offend others and put them off from playing.

I think I (as the primary administrator of this league) am in the position to decide on this solely.

The question asked here is; should this player be permitted to participate in this upcoming Grand Final, not what their behaviour will be like at the 888PL Grand Final.

I know this decision is up to you in the end but for the sake of discussion I am highlighting potential issues with letting him play. I think his behaviour at the upcoming GF is entirely relevant. You have a repeat offender who has shown a flagrant disregard of rules and shown an inability to appreciate the seriousness of his offence, having committed the same offence within days of his suspension being lifted. The probability, in my opinion, that he may again use foul language and abuse players is significant enough to consider when making a decision as to if he can or cannot play.

We made a management decision, two players voiced their opinion and requested that their 888PL peers have a say on this matter and I have proceeded to allow this.

Now decision has been overturned.

I'm sorry mate, but I have no idea what your issue is or why you have to be so antagonistic at times but the only reason I have persevered with your continued veiled insults and outright derogatory comments is because several respected players (whose company and opinions I enjoy and respect) have vouched for you.

The mods have requested I make a decision on this and I suggest you take a break from this forum for a period of time before you damage anymore of your reputation.

I won't lock it.

I don't think anyone is being insulted apart from me, and I have no issue with that.
I am happy to hear everyone's opinion on this matter.

As stated previously I would prefer to set up a council of peers to rule on player behaviour issues and don't mind having people on the forum contribute to this discussion.

Harps, question for you? When you were suspended for online abuse, the first moment after your warning/email/whatever, did you take it seriously, or think "for online, that's a bit of a joke"? Honestly?

I can imagine someone going, "ah, it's just online words, it's nothing serious" and then when he was banned for the live language, he's probably gone "Gee, they really are serious. I'd better pull my head in". I know that's how I would be.

Didn't really consider before that he's bought into the GF. He's obviously keen to play, and is putting his money where his mouth is. Would you fork out $500 of your hard-earned, knowing that any language trouble would get you removed from the tourney, and banned again? I know I wouldn't.
