Victorian poker tour.. Eastern Suburbs.

Well, I am in Victoria, I forgot how much I love this state to visit!
But I must admit, I am already missing SA.
So I thought I would do a bit of a rundown on the venues over here, Bob B and Krunchie style.
So lastnight I had a shot at "The Croydon Hotel".
OMG... I remember that place when I was a 19 year old out on the town binge drinking the night away. It used to be called "Area" and the room looks exactly the same, but, just cleaned up and modernised. It looks great to be honest.
But anyway... Met James and his TD. (Sorry, his name escapes me at the moment).
Very nice bloke, very approachable and runs a nice clean tournament. Ohh and James seemed all right also.. (lol.. just pulling your leg James, I was talking about you).
But I have discovered "Free poker" in one venue is played the same at every venue. (I hope that makes sense).
We had a table of young blokes that just kept going all in with nothing, straddle betting (arrgghhh.. my pet hate) and just basically pushing with nothing.
But, the night was fun, it is interesting how the game does have a different feel when your not in a venue where you know most of the people. Having said that, most everyone was friendly.
There was heaps of room to play and it really was not squishy at all.
Differences:
Not that many to be honest, I love the fact that 888PL has begun to standardise all of its practices, eg: setting up the chips in the middle, fanning the cards.. etc
1. They do a new registration chip bonus of 1,000 not 500 as done in SA. I don't see that as an issue, I just think it is interesting.
2. You could go all in and not be stamped up, if you lost, you had something like 2 mins to get to the bar to get your card stamped up. In SA, if your not stamped and you go all in, too bad so sad, tell your story from the sideline.
However, James did go around lastnight and explain to all the players that this practice has now changed and they are doing it the same way we do in SA.. so big applause for that.
I must admit, because it is the end of the season and there can be fighting for top spot, I am not out to ruin anyones chance of making state finals, so I played a tight game and won a monster pot with poket kings.
I have to say also that if I had not used advice I had received from the fourms, I could quite easily have cracked the poops lastnight and stormed out. All ins with 2-6 off, stupid raises, everything.
But having learned when your against that play to tighten up my game has really made it possible for me to play the kind of game I want without having it ruined by rubbish play around me.
But I look forward to my next night out and will write about that soon.
Thanks to anyone that read this.
