2 games 1 night / freeroll v,s cash

G,day ,

I find this a truly strange concept . 1 888pl free roll event , with an 888pl cash game that starting @ 2nd break .

Why would you start a cash game whilst a freeroll is starting there level "9" i think ,1000/2000 blinds .

The freeroll has a starting stack of $5000 so of course the night is going to go longer. To try and compensate for this antes were introduced only at final table stage.????? I do not think that they should be introduced mid season as a new concept for the freeroll events; noting that they have never been part of the game at the venues for freeroll events, only for finals, and then only recently.

Players going to the venues to make points in the freerolls don't want to have to play against players going all in nearly every hand to either chip up and stay in this event or chip out quickly and go in the challenge. This defeats the purpose of the game of888pl poker league "freeroll poker" itself.

This makes a very long night with the Challenge Game starting around 9pm (end of second break in the freeroll) with a possible finish time around midnight.

I don't believe that a freeroll event should be held on the same night as a challenge event.

This is in conflict with the concept of players vying for points.

"5 -v- 3"

Harps,

First off, all Away events have a 5x multiplier, whether it' a Challenge or Foundation event.

Secondly, the format of our large events are experiencing a trial. We are looking to offer our players and past players more guaranteed playing hours with more chips for less of an official outlay.

I would say, give it some time and wait for players to get used to this type of format and see what happens then.

For those of you unaware we are trialling a few different event structures right now:

TRIAL 1
No Passport system
a. No passports are to be used at this event.
b. Simple 5K start stack with more relaxed structure.

TRIAL 2
1 passport system Double Header
a. 1 passport to be used at this event
b. 3K start stack with a 3K passport – standard blind structure
c Secondary event to be conducted
Secondary event will be a turbo tournament; 1.5K start with 5 minute blinds

TRIAL 3
2 Passport double header
a. For our large events (70+)
b. Game 1 -7.30pm
c. 3K start with 3K add on card
d. Game 2 – 9.00pm
i. 2k start with 2k Add on card
ii. Open for points and will be 10 minute blind levels but standard structure
e. This event will operate longer but offer players a greater opportunity to participate in venue.

And right now, Hoppers and Tigers are experimenting with a deepstack series. Similar to trial 3, but it's a 5K start with a 5K addon and the second game is a $10 buy in challenge event with a slightly more turbo structure.

This is just another way we are looking to bring greater events to you, the player and guarantee more playing hours as well as more opportunities for points on a nightly basis.

ANy feedback or constructive criticism is always welcomed.

i like the idea of two overlapping games too keep punters in venues for longer. I think that haprs' issue could be solved by staging the challenge game first, and having the freeroll game after, with a late registration period. Im sure most people dont mind punters from the final table of the challenge game joining the freeroll a little later, and its also better to have the freeroll with a more turbo structure than the challenge game.
just an idea.

G,day
I believe this format is not working & oh so wrong .
Players going all in before the Cash game starts saying they want to play the cash game .
A player 2night apparentlly had 120,000 + handed the chips in to the T,D , so he could play the cash game .
My opinion is the cash game should be held 1st then the freeroll .
If you don,t want to lose people , because when you hear some1 say i,m all in every hand , so i can play the cashie ,
This is going to be the case .People are going to lose intrest in the freerolls & not go @ all

If anything, it sounds like you'll get MORE players at the freeroll before the cashie. I know that'd be the case if I wanted to go play, would be more enticing.

Aces ,
Not the case from what i,ve asked of people, who play there .
Say should have a deepstack sunday arvo instead
Some one hands in 1/10th of the chips is not fair or right.
Its like i have to go .But worse because they just came for the cash game not the first game

p.s . We are 2 of the biggest venues for nightly players
