unless you get the massivest cooler of all time (like nut house into quads, or quads into straight flush or something) then going out in the first half an hour of the Main Event would be because of bad play.
It is a 30k stack and 2 hour levels (i think), so i would certainly be dissapointed if i lasted less than the first 3-4 levels at least. Hey a dead stack would nearly last that long.

Main event!!
If it was a once in a lifetime chance, it'd have to be the ultimate surely?

Re: WSOP Hypothetical.
Option 2 would be like flying to Augusta and watching the first 3 rounds of the Masters and then going home.
Sure, you saw some good golf, but you missed the culmination of all the excitement - the very reason for being there!!!*
* I understand that this is not the exact situation, but i think the importance/glory/payday/story of the ME is similar to the final day of a major - the smaller events are like Rounds 1,2 & 3 - important, but no comparison to final day glory.

Re: WSOP Hypothetical.
id chose the multiple tournies, ship two bracelets, deep run in another, win player of the year, get tv time on feature table of the ME, and cash in that. easy game.

Re: WSOP Hypothetical.
Its funny how option 2 is clearly the better, more +EV option and we're all choosing the ME.

Re: WSOP Hypothetical.
Yeah this was the discussion me and krunchie were having on tuesday.
Are we there simply for the experience, in which case we play the ME but a cash is unlikely.
OR
Do we play 4 or 5 events knowing that if we manage to cash an event, we could actually make some money from our trip.
The experience of the ME is something we would all want to experience im guessing. If instead of the ME, option one was a normal 10k holdem event, then we would all be choosing option 2 im guessing.

EV doesn't come into it if its a once off.
the experience is obviously worth more than 10k to us
