OK then I either completely misunderstand the point of them, or worded it incorrectly... And the upper limit doesnt effect the type of system I am refering to (like it does, say on doubling your bet on RED/BLACK until you eventually win on roulette), well it does, but it only limits now much you can win if you go on a crazy long winning streak...
And I don't mean negate the house edge like counting does.
About the simplest possible progressive betting system to use with BJ, is: if you win 2 hands in a row, then double the bet the 3rd hand... If you lose that hand, you break even. If you win that hand, add another bet, and take the remaining chips back to your BR. Continue until you lose a hand....
And Casino's don't like it...
Because these players are more likely to win off them (and this is what I mean by negate the house edge)

yep, but its not illegal. and i haven't specified anything about whether betting systems are not allowed, or that its even in a casino, just that you dont card count, so that your EV is always negative playing blackjack, but by using basic strategy, its about -0.5% give or take a bit

Neither is card counting illegal...
I know you didnt explicitly specify, thats why I did in my answer...
You seem to not want to? Wouldnt it just be easier to do so?
I am still of the inclination that if the house is to maintain its +EV edge and do so for the whole 24 hours, then betting systems can't be allowed... Someone over on the 2p2 link even mentioned using betting systems you can have a +1.0%EV against the house??
I use the term Casino to refer to any place you are playing BJ, legal or otherwise...

Re: Phil Ivey or Blackjack?
can we get back on topic please?
the point is, rightly or wrongly, if we play blackjack we can assume a 0.5% house advantage, and we can control the stakes we play.
the rest is just semantics which is irrelevant.

Re: Phil Ivey or Blackjack?
OK, well like I said, I choose HU Poker v Ivey (or anyone)...
Our avg loss rate to Ivey will be way more than the BJ, but when we do get lucky (and we need to with either game), we win much more off Ivey than the BJ table... - And we also don't really care about loss rates, as being just $1 down after 24 hours is the same to us as blowing the whole million...
