I don't even rate a mention. FU answering it anyway.

For me, i liked the game for the gamble mentality as well as the ability to outplay people on the flop. I have repeatedly said before that i like the way card games play out my first diet was on Hearts, then i found online spades, and my Euchre US friend introduced me to Gin and Crib, also picked up Canasta again along the way. How these relate to poker is your always thinking how best to out play your opponent, in terms of cards played and blocking plays.

Omaha is very similar to these games. In that you can go to a flop cheaply and you have to work out what you are drawing to and how best to play your opponent if he has the hand you think he has.

Brett.

I have a fairly good reason as to why you 3 are more partial to it. At least 75% of it has to do with which type of personality traits you all share. :-).

My acesxx ss got cracked by 104xx last night. Potted to $5 guy repots to $20 i get it all in pre. See the 44 fall on the flop the 10 on the turn, and the blank river. All because i sucked out on him 20 hands earlier vs his aces. Love the pain.

Yeh, I knew you love it too Brett lol. But when all three brothers play it I thought there might be some sort of interesting story behind it, like in the olden days the Murrins used to play Omaha with their Great Uncle Fred who was a professional gambler for seven years and who had lost his wife in a game somewhere in outback SA with some no good card players...

In general, a lot of the population can fall into 4 broad personality types. The dynamo - always has the big ideas, great schemes, get people all excited, but doesn't worry about the small details until too late. The Director, who is always sticking to the schedule, no procastinating because they want it down. The Analyst, who is the tech spec kind of guy, the very fine nuts and bolts. The Friend, who is always trying to keep everyone calm and keeping everything running.

Comparing Dave Scott and Muzz together, they all seem to fit two of the categories. Which just to my opinion is more of the Analyst and Friend role. The analyst is good because in Omaha they are always looking, the friend because they like the easy nature of the game, you can get to a flop only being a 5-15% dog. Even money most times.

Look at Holdem players in the world, Suited more to the dynamo and director, but the big grand bet, the flourish, the bravado. Phil Hellmuth, Tony G, Hachems, Topakas, e.t.c Typically suited to more Dominant personalities.

I like omaha too. I fit into the friend more than the analyst, but i am reserved when i am speaking to people until after a while when i can open up. Plus the less agressive nature suits me as a pacifist. Whereis Garth is the more agressive of us 2, and why he dominates in Holdem.

Something to think about.

Also trying not to offend anyone here.
But these categories do change with the individual, and they aren't always that category all the time. Could be 40% of one, 25% 20% 15%.
