$12 into a $120) won 3 events to get a main event ticket, really is as deserving as someone that has played venues for 3 months, then performed well in a state final?
I would rather just do the 3/4 steps, but think there still needs to be a balance.
Sort of depends whether you are looking for a large field at the Main event or a quality field.

This happens ALL the time with different satellites. And to be truthful, getting through three/four/whatever steps in an online satellite process (depending on runners of course) could in fact be tougher than performing well in ONE state final.

The reality is that many players who play in grand finals and now the Main Event usually win their seat via a satellite [no criteria to play] or by purchasing a ticket [No different to any other casino tourny].

Maybe, once Glyn puts out his proposal, a poll could be organised to see what is the preferred option, and more importantly, how many would participate.
