it has been interesting reading the different points of view on this subject. i have to agree with the comments Hagar made about 888pl becoming elitist. I have seen a few references to 'lower budget users' and get the impression they are welcome to play elsewhere. If they play the lower buy in games they do not have te same chance of gaining points as someone who can afford to pay $20 per game. I think the system should be based more on skill and not your income

Personally, I don't quite get how people are ok to go out and spend $20 to play live (in a freeroll) but balk at paying anything like that online (where you can actually win the money).

The system as it stands is already rewarding those with more money and more time.

Gotta understand that it is a business, and that will take precedent always.

You need to play 10 venue games as well to qualify, Playing one or two venue games and then paying each day online as well will price it out of a lot of peoples pockets.

I agree with meanmaree that the game should be based on skill and not on peoples income. I am one that will be unable to play in the expensive games there for I wont be able to make enough points to qualify for the dream team for instance. In reality the $20 is more than $20 because it is US. I feel that the people who can not afford to pay this sort of money each day will being penalized.

Dreamteam is over-rated, don't worry about it.

I doubt many people will play the $20 game 'every day' - just pick 1 day and try your best, or try the $10 game - a better option IMO anyway.

Don't play poker everyday - it will do your head in!

there is a high correlation between skill and how much money you have in your account. (and also how much volume you put in, but that is another question)

sure, if you are really rich, you might be able to dump a few hundred a week, but i very much doubt that any 888pl player is in that category. if they are then they are a big minority.

so for the rest of us that can play these games, it is about building your bankroll up.

if you only have $50 in your account, then obviously you shouldn't be playing these games, but there are the freerolls that you can try and final table, and the 50c and $2 and $5 games that you can try.

if you find you are consistently winning money in these games, then you can try and move up.

!

this is a good point as well - there are other things to strive for as well. just making a good amount of money from a small deposit is a good goal to have.

others include trying to qualify for the semi finals and grand final.

if you can't afford the money and or time to go for the dream team just yet, dont worry, noone will think any less of you for it.

leave the dream team leaderboard for the sickos that can play every day :D
